Before my family arrived, I was wishing that I had time to make a gingerbread house. I didn’t think I would find a gingerbread house kit on Amazon, but on a lark I looked. When I saw “Nabisco” and that it wasn’t imported, I ordered this kit.It arrived perfectly packaged and 100% in tact. The only thing was the icing would not soften, which could be a problem for some. I keep meringue powder on hand, so I whipped up some royal icing and made a little parchment paper forcing bag.There’s a plastic form base to assemble the 4 walls on. A cardboard roof template slides over the roof so it can dry in place on the walls without slipping off. I was most impressed. I used to make 100’s of graham cracker houses over empty mini milk cartons for all my children’s classes and the roofs were always difficult part.My grandson is 3. He is currently obsessed by colours and rainbows so he arranged extra candy that I bought into a “rainbow” on either side. He had a blast.If I had any complaints, the icing wouldn’t work, the candy was skimpy (which is why I bought more) and my walls stuck to the plastic base so it had to stay as part of the house. My grandson certainly didn’t care or notice! Still giving it 5 stars!

The gingerbread pieces are sturdy and easy to handle. It comes with a base that is grooved so you can add icing and set the walls. There is also a cardboard support that holds the roof sections in place as icing hardens. The kids thought this support was cute because it had a chimney and Santa’s legs were visible. You could have the kids color it before attaching. We got m and m candies instead of the tiny sugar beads that came with it which are easier to apply. Really cute, kids had fun building and I will look for this same one next year and hope it is available!

These were the best tasting houses ever! But the frosting "glue" dried too slowly for eager little hands.

Bought this gingerbread house to do with my Grandson who loves to build them any time of year!This arrived well packaged, no broken pieces and was a great price.

I’ve made a lot of gingerbread houses with kids and this was one of the best I’ve used! It’s easy to set up because of the stand. The icing was strong and actually held the pieces together pretty quickly.30 minutes after we finished, one of the kids tried to bite off a piece of the roof and it fell off. I was able to stick it back on because the remaining icing was still good. I’m happy with this kit!

Price was good at the sale price, but do not plan on eating anything because the candy and the gingerbread taste nasty. I bought two in February to do a cute valentine project with heart sprinkles I purchased. It was fun to do for a holiday other than Christmas, and the expiration date was good for months yet.

This kit was super easy and super cute! I bought 3. I had bought extra icing and candies but found the kit was generous with both. We recommend using a glue gun to put it together for stability. We did have 1 broken wall out of the 3 kits but it was easily fixed with some glue. Had a good time. Worth the purchase.

I’m really disappointed with the Create-A-Treat E-Z Build Gingerbread House Decorating Kit. The gingerbread was disgusting—my kids couldn’t even eat it. The taste was awful, and it was so dry and stale. It completely ruined our holiday decorating experience. Even with the bonus Chips Ahoy mini cookies, the gingerbread was a total letdown. I don’t suggest buying it.
