I’m very beginner at video making but
The media could not be loaded. I can’t really compare because I just started and it’s my first experience, but I love the quality produced by this 1.33 gold anamorphic. Attached the video I made with it using iPhone 15 pro max. I messed up settings I guess because time to time picture is overly exposed. My magnetic VND filter didn’t work with this lens, so I already ordered another pack of ND filters with thread connection. And a telescopic lens. Update: finally got all the lenses except for the fish eye and 1.55.Wide angle is amazing and works great even mounted on the iPhone 15 pro max 5x telephoto lens! That’s really cool. But the telephoto 1.7 lens is very useless. It makes no difference, if u select 2x zoom on 24mm sensor u get better quality. I was hoping for deeper bokeh at longer distance. But nope. And it won’t work with 120mm telephoto sensor. There’s practically no use for it.The long range macro produces very bad quality and feels cheap. U get weird curled edged like on fisheye when the object is separated from the background (it’s not noticeable if you it’s on flat surface) and a huge chromatic aberration like the sensor is too wide for this lens. I use iPhone 15 pro max. You can use a little zoom like 1.5 to get rid of it, but the quality is still considerably bad. I feel like you take better clearer pictures with stock wide angle sensor.Overall I’m happy with freewell, not going to return the 1.7x lens just because I wanna collect every single piece of the freewell Sherpa gear. But if your looking into this specific lens and you have Samsung s24 ultra or iPhone 15 pro max just skip this one unless you want to collect them all😅

Purchased the kit wouldn't recommend this
I purchased a kit which includes lenses and the compatible phone case for my trip to California. I received a delayed message on the compatible phone carrying case which never arrived. Stuck with lenses but no phone carrying case to utilize the lenses. I would not recommend purchasing this kit.

There is flare and there is glare
Finding an anamorphic lens that produces a quality image is harder than you might think. I have personally tried several that fail - usually due to lack of image sharpness. This Freewell Sherpa lens is well constructed and mounts to the Sherpa case reasonably well. The cylindrical glass elements do a good job of capturing a sharp image that when stretched in software produces that great cinematic look. But it all goes wrong when it comes to the “gold flare” produced by the lens. Instead of producing subtle flares or streaks off of the brightest points of light, this lens flares off of every bright portion of the scene creating a gold fog of glare across the frame obscuring much of the scene’s detail. It’s a pity, this lens came close but the effect is over egged. This lens is going back.

Awesome anamorphic lenses for the 15 pro max!!
The image quality of this lense is amazing! You need to use Filmic or Blackmagic or Finalcut to squeeze the footage, but you will get what you pay for with this!!

Just did a short test - one big problem for me
The 1.33 looks quite good both aesthetically and technically. So far my MAJOR gripe is the fact that it does not come with a lens cap for the front or rear. This will make transportation a real problem especially when you keep the lens on the camera and wish to protect it. Taking it in and out of that case takes too much time and space. For all the things Freewell thought out, this is a major drawback for me. The solution would have cost them only a few cents in production. I suspect this is also a problem with their set of filters for the Anamorphic lens. Any ideas for light, speedy protection would be appreciated. Come on, Freewell!!

Well, but look at the edge of the lens.
Apparently good quality, but the edges of the lens are appearing.
