Great function and build.
This trusty trap of mine has been doing its job well—I’ve successfully captured and relocated four rabbits and one determined ‘possum. 🐇Now, about that ‘possum. I released him about a mile away, only to find what appears to be the same scruffy wanderer lurking back in my yard. Can a ‘possum really navigate its way home from that distance? It certainly seems so. Either he’s exceptionally good at reading maps, or he’s just got an unstoppable homing instinct. 🏠In any case, the trap is back in action, and this time, I’ll be giving him a much more distant relocation—about five miles away. Hopefully, that’ll be enough to discourage his return. But if he shows up again, I might have to admit defeat and just give him a name. It’s clear that my backyard bird feeder is the irresistible draw. Unfortunately for him, my hospitality extends only to feathered visitors, not nocturnal scavengers.🐦Sorry, buddy—I’m here to feed birds, not ‘possums. Lol.

It works!!
The media could not be loaded. ****PLEASE READ IF SKEPTICAL!!*****This product is awesome!!! I can’t believe the luck I had. I have been feeding this stray cat every single day from the month of October (6 months now) he began to recognize me and my voice and would come close to me but still skeptical of letting me even lightly pet him. I’ve tried luring him inside him food, etc. I bought him a shelter house in the woods for the winter, but was still nervous of his survival due to the bad weather, as I really care about him. I was getting desperate and new I had to do something sooner than later if I wanted to save him. This cat trap was listed as best seller and one of the cheaper ones as well. I bought it hoping for the best as I noticed the reviews are pretty 50/50 - people either said it was faulty / didn’t work at all or people either praised about it, no in between really. I payed for two day shipping and it came the very next day which was super convenient. Anyways, IT WORKED THE VERY FIRST TIME / TRY!!!! I couldn’t believe it, I feel like an idiot for not doing this months ago. I’m not a builder at all and it was super easy to set up, instructions are very understanding, the video tutorial on here is even more helpful took longer to build for me then it did to catch him!!! I met him outside like I do every night for his feeding, I set the cage down in the distance with a can of tuna inside and I put wet cat food in the entrance of the cage throughout , as well as on the trap pad to lure him more easily which really helped him be less scared to go inside. I walked away several feet and watched - in less than five minutes he was inside eating around the trap and eventually triggered it. I could not believe how easy and fast it worked. It was incredibly successful as I was nervous from people saying this trap is cheap and animals frequently escape.. which I want to speak on. ***READ HERE**** This trap does 100% work, clearly. I think it’s suffice enough to get the job done without spending $$$. BUT I WILL SAY, there is minor errors. When the front door is locked, there is slight gaps in the corner. As I was carrying the cat inside holding the cage, he was trying to escape through these gaps, he was managing to nearly get his whole head out (about up to his hears) I noticed this and kept calm, I slid the cage up so it would push him back which helped. ****DISCLAIMER**** I would not depend on this cage to use overnight to catch, because the animal more than likely wouldn’t be there in the morning. I would not leave unattended during catch, be on stand by and act fast to bring cage to designated area. Although painful, a scared / angry cat or critter could definitely navigate out of the cage if it really tried and especially had the time. Overall, for what it’s worth the cage is pretty sturdy. If your second guessing this purchase I say buy it!!!! Give it a try, test your luck you may be surprised like me. It doesn’t hurt…now Mr.Kitty is safe :) I HOPE THIS HELPS!!!!

Could be better
I have used a friend's trap for years, so I have some experience with this. I do not like the release for the door, your hand seems to be close to the animal, and you have to squeeze 2 bars so that take a little time. Overall, it is working and catching critters. I will look at different traps if I need to replace this one.

Works Great
Used it to capture some feral cats in our neighborhood. It comes collapsed flat, but is pretty easy to set-up. The instructions are clear. Works as expected.

Good value
Works great. Easy to use once you figure it out. I use it to trap feral cats so I can treat them for fleas. Easy release.

great for TNVR cats who are leery of traps
EDIT: MY REVIEW HERE IS FOR A DROP TRAP (the kind you pull a string to drop cage down over animal, like a cartoon trap, but it now looks like this page now sells a slam-catch trap) The drop trap: This product is great, it is THE ONLY drop trap i could find that FOLDS UP to fit in car. All the rest of drop traps do NOT fold up so what good is that? unless you are only trapping in your own yard and have a large garage to store a big bulky trap.so i am glad i finally found one that DOES fold up for those of us out there working out in the field on TNVR cat. Protect your car seat with blanket prior to placing this drop trap in your car, it can scratch leather if you don't use a blanket over car seat.I show picture of the side door where one can slide the transport trap up to that slide up door , after the cat has been caught underneath the drop trap. I used an ordinary transport trap, (Tru-trap, the brown kind that does NOT slam)and there was a tiny gap as the 2 items do not actually connect or snap onto each other as intended, yet, it works fine just having a transport trap pushed very close. Cats go right into the transport trap right away, they do not ever seem to notice the tiny bit of air between the drop trap and the transport trap.Have a blanket over the transport trap so it appears to be a dark safe escape route and have cardboard on floor of transport trap so metal wires wont bother cats feet.I recommend practicing quite a bit with this prior to using it. It is more ideal if you can unfold the thing and set it up prior to your animals watching you do that. If you have a wild cat or animal that is not accustomed to your presence? then you will need a very very long string to be able to distance yourself enough that the cat WILL go into/under this trap.Put food wayyyyyyyyyy back under trap and do NOT pull string until entire cat is FULLY 100% way under the trap. take your time, i lost 2 cats by pulling string Too Early,----- cats are so fast to zoom back out. SO wait, wait wait, get that cat wayyyy under the trap, way in the back.Use on level ground. It is easier if you have 2 people, -------BUT YOU CAN DO THIS ALONE, far more important than pressing down on trap, is THROW A SHEET OVER IT instantly. Cats can not really get under edges at all, no, but you can lose the cat who turns around too fast if you pull string too early.Have your full size sheet ready to toss over the trap right away., as soon as cat is under the trap, RUN over and cover that trap up.ONce you throw a sheet over the cage? the cat calms down. YOu do not necessarily need any brick to hold cage still for cats,---------- the cat calms down instantly as soon as you cover the cage. Then, after you line up the transport cage by the trap's door, and have both doors open so cat can run iinto smaller transport trap? THEN pull sheet off of larger drop-trap and put it over smaller transport trap, and the cat will run into the smaller trap to "Hide" under that sheet.DONe.Once i got hang of it, then This worked great, i FINALLY caught a very trap savvy cat that i had tried everything for a year to catch. got her! she is now fixed and living a better life.
