Works perfectly for my purposes. Be aware that it needs time to cure after application!
I have used this to replace the original VHB adhesive on a windshield mount for a Comma 3X device after having the windshield replaced, more than once, where it has worked perfectly - note that it needs time to cure; don't put weight on it right away. I made sure to scrape off and dissolve the old adhesive down to the bare plastic and then sand it a bit before applying the tape.3M says this 5925 is a Modified Acrylic adhesive tape, which should be good for the following (note that Modified Acrylic is recommended for almost everything in Multi-purpose acrylic as well):Multi-purpose Acrylic: Bonds to a wide range of materials including metals, glass and high and medium surface energy plastics and paints. Resists migration of plasticizers in vinyl substrates.Modified Acrylic: Bonds to medium and low surface energy paints and plastics, including many powder coated paints, in addition to the substrates listed with the multi-purpose acrylic adhesive (except plasticized vinyl).Good Luck!

3M adhesive tape Double sided 2 inch
3M DOUBLE SIDED MOUNTING TAPE. 5925 VHB 2" WIDTH BLACK FOAM TAPE HIGH BOND WATERPROOFI spent 2 days studying and researching this which I wouldn't dare use on my walls since it's so strong I'm afraid that is could peel paint when removed but I learned that this is strong enough as one reviewer said that it secures things and they aren't moving. Since it's water proof I figured my husband might find a use for it. Not for inside use since I don't trust it. The Command strips XL 20 pound is safe to hold a heavy frame that won't remove paint. The other 3M .,94 is less harsh and since it's the same Manufacturer I'll be unable to review it. I think that ;ole the Yankee candles different scents bring up my first review which is typed in so except from a coup;e of items I haven't received yet, the percentage ratio is getting affected adversely because I can't review many duplicate products that are same items. You might try it to make sure what may be confusing. I might have one left.

Adheres well, but for what you get with the brand name...this is overpriced
Bought this to anchor a sacrificial board on my LVP floor to allow me to align the gap between two planks. It held firmly - almost too firmly - and allowed me to use large clamps to press the board, and therefore the LVP flooring, back together to make a tight seam. This is sold in short 10-15 foot roles and 1-2 inches in width. If you had a large project or something that needed longer lengths of this tape, be prepared to pay $$$.

Danger: VHB stands for Very High Bond
This is a professional, industrial, no-holds-barred product. VHB means Very High Bond Strength… and they ain’t kiddin’. I am not aware of an adhesive tape with a stronger bond. But, it actually doesn’t work well on some glossy-painted or smooth, glossy plastic surfaces. For that, prepare the surface using 3M 94 primer https://a.co/d/dUooCnkBe careful with this stuff. It bonds aggressively to skin and hair. And — and this is so IMPORTANT — do NOT store a role of VHB tape on its side. Within days, the adhesive will migrate and the entire role will be permanently stuck to whatever shelf or table you left it on. A roll of VHB tape must ALWAYS be stored upright. Also, if you use scissors to cut VHB tape, clean the blades before you put them away… remember, very high bond.Otherwise, once you understand 3M VHB, you will love this stuff. It often gives a stronger assembly than you could get with a screw. This is an excellent product for many applications. It’s difficult for consumers to purchase retail. I’ve used it as an engineer for many years and love it. It’s nice to now have a legitimate source of it for home use (no more sticky finger — pun intended — in the tool crib.

Excellent tape!
A cosmetic metal part from the left passenger side window of my vehicle started to pop off while driving on the highway. I continued to watch it flapping around until I could safely pull over. I removed the part. The next day, I took the part to the local vehicle repair shop, whose owner advised me that I could probably replace this part myself if I had a good quality double backed tape. He would also look up and provide a bid for his work if I decided use his service. Following his advice, I carefully scraped leftover tape from the same area, applied the newly purchased double backed tape, and placed the metal piece back in place. Except for a small bend from the initial part starting to fall off, you really can't tell that I did this repair work myself. Oh, the auto body shop emailed me their bid - cost of the part = $780, labor = $42, for a total of $828.00. I'm glad that I did this myself!! So far, so good, and I have extra tape should it fall of again.

After 30 days tape is non-sticky - waste of money & time
This tape started out Great for 30 days. Then after it was in my garage for 60 days, now the tape unravels without me pulling on the roll. As such the black adhesive (not under the protection peel) is totally non-sticky - Thus making this purchase totally useless. FYI - I checked another 3M roll of double stick I had in same garage, which is about 12 months old....same thing. Totally useless. 3M needs to figure this out. Why wont a roll of tape in a garage for a couple+ months become non-sticky. What a waste of money!
