A very well-made product
This is a great step for any pick up on their tailgate, the only problem I have had with it is extending the bottom step, but after working it a few times it has loosened up and works just fine, I highly recommend this Stepp. It’s well-made and holds my weight very well.

Highly recommend this
Love this ladder for our truck. Easy to use... Can get in and out of our truck better.

Holds 250lbs
Easy install. Handle is solid. Takes up no room. A bit hard to operate push pin stops, may change to pull pin stops. Overall, great idea and great product.

Bent at first Step
This was promoted well. Easy to install and operate. The steps were nice and well-designed. The holding handle, not so much. Upon my first step up the ladder, I used the handle to help guide me, and the handle bent without much pressure. If I had any improvements to this design, I would make the handle out of Solid Steel instead of hollow tubing of weak metal.

Nice product.
Installed this on my 2008 Ford F150. Had to move the rubber bumpers to the outside legs so they would make contact with the top edge of the tailgate. This required cutting off about 2” off the top of the legs of the drop down step. This allowed me to screw the rubber bumper to the outside legs without inhibiting the drop down step. Easy modification that increases the stability of the step.

Very cheap construction, but works okay.
I wanted to love this, but ultimately you get what you pay for. The steel tubing is beyond cheap. The steel in the handle literally ripped out of the pin that holds it in place while just using it to stabilize during instillation. Also that bottom step can be very slippery. The diamond pattern is shallow and not very grippy. That said, I used it for 90 day working on ranches, getting in and out several times a day. It was nice to not have to jump from the tailgate. Still, if doing it over I would probably look to one of those side mount ladders.

Great step. worth the money
honestly this is an awesome product. I love it. Just make sure about the height on the tailgate to both tonneau and tailgate will close. Made well. The shorter screws included should be longer and the rubber bumpers will need a more sturdy washer on them but overall this is well made and works great for those of us who are vertically challenged.

Some Good Things, Some Bad Things
This folding step was pretty easy to install, and all the proper pieces and hardware were inside the package. You will need to pre-drill small holes, or use a dremel tool to create a starter hole for the provided tapping screws because they will not penetrate the metal tailgate by just pressing down hard on your drill with hex bit. Once installed, the step folds out easily, but because the lowest step does not touch the ground. The extension frame to lower the bottom step was very difficult to extend because you must simultaneously depress two spring loaded detent buttons all the way in. This isn’t easy to do, even with two hands. After depressing the detent buttons, the extension became stuck in the extrusion and had to be extended using a rubber mallet. After extending it fully, it was just as difficult to push it back up to enable the ladder to revert to the nesting position. Applying some oil in the channels relieved the tightness somewhat, but it’s still difficult to extend and retract. The machining of this product appears to be very poor. Additionally, all of your weight goes onto the lowest step when you try to step up. The lowest step creates very high leverage on the screws, and the screws on mine started to come out. I weigh 200#. After re-tightening them, they haven’t come out again. But if you purchase this item, you should keep your eyes on the screws as you ascend the steps. If they come out with your full weight on the step, I could foresee a possible fall/injury. I’m not happy with the quality of this product, or is operation. I probably can make it work safely by attaching self fabricated flip down supports for the bottom step tubes which are long enough to reach the ground to support some weight when you use the extended steps.
