MagpulMAG001 Original Mag Assist (Pack of 3)

We airsoft, and these are a must for quick mag replacement. We all carry multiple mags in vest pouches. We wear so much PPE(requires) on the airsoft field, for a safety, sometimes it can be tough to see what we are grabbing. These mag pulls are perfect to grab without looking. Easy install, and they stay super tight. Been using these for a couple years now, and never had one come loose, let alone fall off. I have purchased multiple. Not because they need to be replaced, because we keep acquiring more mags! Hah!

I have it not only on 556 replica mags but also 762 replica mags. Fits like a snug glove and does what it needs to do. Helps easily pull mags from your pouches and holds up strong!

These things are exactly as described, and they do make it easier to locate and extract a mag from a deep pocket on your vest or pouch. They are strong, resilient, and should last pretty much forever, I'd guess. If you're installing one on a mag with a base-plate that doesn't stick out past the mag's side (like my two steel mags), then it's not too hard to put it on, and it grips tight so it won't come off (without a lot of effort). So far, so good.But there are a couple of drawbacks, which may or may not affect YOU.(1) On polymer mags with "fat" base-plates, these things are very hard to put on...virtually impossible unless you warm them first with a hair-dryer (my thanks to other reviewers for that tip). On my one Magpul Pmag, even with a well-heated mag assist, I had trouble. On my IMI (Israeli) mags, the base-plates don't stick out quite as much, but the corners of the base-plates are squared off (...the Pmag's corners are rounded), so putting on the assists is just as hard (hint: start with the sharp back corners). To tell you the truth, on mags with "grippy" protruding base-plates, I'm not sure these assists help all that much -- even without them, the Pmag and IMI mags are pretty easy to grab.(2) The assists add quite a bit to the width of the mags. If you only carry one mag per pocket, this is likely no big deal. But if you carry two mags in one pocket, the FOUR LAYERS of heavy rubber make the two bases significantly fatter (at least 3/8 in). This can cause them to jam in the pocket...ESPECIALLY ON POLYMER MAGS THAT ALREADY HAVE FAT BASE PLATES. The texture of the rubber assists makes this jamming worse. It can really be hard to pull the first mag out of a tight 2-mag-pocket.I think these things are great on metal mags or any mag with a narrow base-plate. If you only carry one mag per pocket, they are good for any mag.One last point -- I've shot a lot and hunted for over 60 years, but I just bought my first AR-15, so I'm definitely not an AR expert. But I see that one or two reviewers have said that these assists make it impossible to follow the normal procedure to clear an FTF because you can't slap the base of the mag to ensure proper seating. Really? Maybe I don't know how hard you're supposed to slap the mag, but I have NO trouble slapping a mag with an assist on it. Honest, it just doesn't seem to get in the way at all, IMHO.

Works as intended

At first I thought "how the heck is this gonna fit around the Pmag baseplate" Then I saw a review that said "get your wife's boyfriend" and that did it! Muscled them on and they are secure.Quick note - If the first boyfriend can't get it the 2nd one definitely can. :)

Fit AR mags perfectly, very tight. No risk of coming loose from magazine.
