to my baby black Ranchu for about 7 mos now. She's (if she's a she) been in a 5 gallon "grow-out" tank with a plenum filter and she's strong and healthy. Yes, I know that 5 gallons is tiny--hence the plenum filter-- but it's working and she's growing fine and is healthy. She's also got a tiny heater that keeps the water around 78 degrees, which is better for the fancies against bacterial infections. In fact, my 55gal GF tank (also with Dr. Novac's plenum filter) has a heater too and I've had NO issues AT ALL. NONE. Ultra Fresh GF food brings out her color. She's a nice, deep, velvet-mat black all over. I also feed Ultra Fresh "Royal Guppy" to my WCMM, Tiger Barbs, and Varitus Platys? Best food out there for your water pets.

My fish love this food , I have been feeding it exclusively for years and my fish are visibly healthy and thriving .The only downside would be the pellet size , they are small and my fish are now very large but I would not change to any other food , they seem to find it regardless.

This is good quality food. I love that it comes with a little serving spoon. I also like the size of the pellets. My large goldfish, George, really loves it. He gobbles it up, no problem. It is expensive for the quantity you receive.

Sinks / fish like it / no bad smell

These are billed as slow sinking, but I find they start to sink 20-30 sec after use, which isn't enough time for my GF to get them on the surface. If I put more than 8 pellets at a time some of them end up on the aquarium floor, which is unfortunate.The fast sinking quality might reflect a higher ingredient/nutrient density, but in my case, more of them would be eaten (and fewer wasted/contribute to water fouling) if the pellets had a little more air inside!
