Excellent Clip-On Fan
This Vornado clip on fan is great and mighty. Who can compete with Vornado really? I have their Vintage metal fans in each room. They last forever. I bought two of these clip on fans. I keep one in the bathroom and one in the bedroom. This one is set up on a bookcase, so it isn’t the greatest setup and does wobble a bit. It has fallen off because it really needs the side to be the same flat side all around. However, my fan seems to bulge inward and isn’t complete flat itself. It isn’t the quietest fan, but I’m a fan of fan noise, so it doesn’t bother me. I do think it could potentially bother someone who is bothered by fan noise because it is pretty loud even on the middle setting. The dial is in the back as all Vornado fans are, which makes it challenging. When it has fallen off, it’s been because I’m reaching behind to adjust the speed. By far, it is the BEST clip on fan I’ve ever had and potentially the best on the market at this time. I tried a Lasko and Holmes before this Vornado and neither worked for me. This Vornado is compact and gives off a much stronger flow of air. It’s the smallest out of all that I’ve tried, looks like the most durable (definitely the thickest plastic and metal rotating pieces), and modern construction, so the look was appealing. It rotates fully around and swivels up and down, so you can really angle it in so many ways, which is appealing. I was going to give it 4 stars and realized after writing this review that it really deserves 5 because it goes above and beyond for a clip on fan. I highly recommend this fan and all Vornado products. They’re stylish and so functional.

Great little desk fan!
Noise: The fact that this is rated as a bit noisier than other fans this size is a huge plus for me. I need sound when I sleep. I chose this fan simply because some people said it was "noisy", I did not want a "whisper quiet" fan. On the lowest setting it is fairly quiet. Settings 2 and 3 it is quite a bit louder. Fine by me! I have tinnitus and where I live there's also some road noise and this fan helps block both out.Cooling: I have this clipped on a desk in our guest bedroom (which I sometimes sleep in instead of the master), even on the lowest settings I can feel the air from the bed which is about 5 feet away. Settings 2 and 3 provide a strong breeze at that distance.Features: The swivel and the tilt are both great. I can easily swivel it at me if I'm sitting at the desk then point it back towards the bed when I lay down. The clamp seems sturdy & strong.Looks: At this price point it's probably the best looking of the small personal fans.Size: About 9 inches tall and about 7 inches wide.Durability: Can't comment as I've only had it a week. Hoping it last a long time. I usually only run it at night. I do also have a larger room fan from Vornado and that thing has worked great for years and is still alive so I decided to go with this fan based on my past experience with the brand.

Great looks and mounting, but not very powerful.
Love the look of the fan, and the clip-on mount, but am kind of disappointed in the air flow… I expected better.

DURABLE! 3 years of constant use and still just like new
I’ve purchased this fan for my desk 3 years ago, and except for a few winter months, it’s been getting used about 9 hours a day for 3 years straight. Not a single problem with it, and it runs just as well as the day I got it.Pros:• DURABLE: 3straight years of use 8-9 hours a day, and runs just like new.• Moves a lot of air: For its small size and keeps me cool.• Small size: It’s a nice small size and doesn’t get in the way.• Sturdy clip: The clip is very strong and can be clipped anywhere as long as the clip surface is thinner than the max width of the clip. My desk is 1.25” thick and the fan clips just fine, and I haven’t had to adjust anything for 3 years.• Swivels: The fan head swivels up and down, and the base swivels side to side, making it a highly versatile little fan. The swivel parts are nice and sturdy — tight enough to not be hard to move and not loose. Once you set its position, it won’t move unless you adjust its position.Cons:• I don’t count this as a con, but I see other reviewers commenting that it’s noisy. I personally don’t feel that it is. To me, it’s like a white noise that I’ve learned to ignore. But it does make a regular fan noise (obviously quieter than regular sized fan) when running. For those who are looking for a highly durable and versatile little fan, you won’t go wrong with this little fan.

good
update 2023-08-25: it has started making a clicking sound while in operation that has only seemed to get louder over time. all of my other vornadoes even ones i've had for over ten years are still silent with the exception of the air they are moving. at first i didn't mind, but as it got worse it's become unacceptable. still "works" great, but the noise has made me change my opinion of it a bit.original review:a good little desk fan, but the design has some drawbacks.the fan itself is of course fantastic (pun?) i got this because it's a vornado. i have a very different kinds already for different areas of the house and they all preform great. the fan on this unit is no different. it's quiet and moves a lot of air.what is kind of a downgrade is the rest of its design. i got this erroneously thinking there were a lot more points of articulation then there actually was. the fan housing can tilt up and down, and the whole thing can rotate left and right on the base. that is all. and truthfully that should be enough for most uses but did not meet the needs i got it for. i thought that the metal bar could rotate up and down at the base, or that the fan head could swivel left to right on the bar. because it is more stationary than i anticipated, it doesn't have the clearance where i had planned to put it. i can still use it, and it is still a great fan, it just kind of makes this somewhat elaborate looking design waste a lot of space. knowing what i know now, i think i would have chose a more squat design with a wider clamp or one that can also sit on a table top.all else being equal with vornados, buy this fan for its looks, not its utility.
