Extremely satisfied, most features in its class, amazing quality!

Extremely satisfied,This is one of the only inverters in its power rating that actually has an AC INPUT and fail over from that to battery, rather than just being inverter only, which is great! It also recharges batteries when connected to AC in, with a DEDICATED charging circuit enable/disable switch, which is important if you use non Lead Acid batteries! The quality / thought that went into this is much appreciated!I'm using this for a travel trailer that I'm building, to power a microwave and mini-fridge and small air conditioner unit, and needed the ability to plug in an external power source to pass through the current and recharge, and this is spectacular for that!I only wish I could turn off or adjust the low voltage alarm - I was using an undersized battery, 50ah to test it out, and ran a 700w/1000w microwave, and the voltage drop on the undersized battery was just enough to trigger the high pitched low voltage/low battery alarm until the microwave finished, even though the battery was fully charged and it was load-induced voltage drop. Even then... I understand, and it was due to my error in not choosing an appropriate size battery, so it alerted me to a potential issue, so in a way it was a positive. And on top of all of that, it's a pure sine wave! Awesome.Note : the picture doesn't do justice to how massive this thing is, it was much bigger than I expected, so keep in mind when planning for where you're doing to put it!

Failed on Sump Pump

I set it up exactly as described. It worked on a 100 watt light bulb. When I hooked it up to my sump pump (on the same circuit), the the inverted couldn't start the pump, although it tried, and then went dead. Now it won't run the light bulb and the panel lights are dark. The sump pump is rated at 700 watts and 8 amps max.UPDATE:I sent it back. $40.00 in shipping and insurance. They called to say it looked like there was no problem. I declined to update to the larger model (3000). They said they would credit my credit card minus $40 shipping they paid originally and a 20 dollar restocking fee. So, I am out $100 for nothing.Needless to say, I won't repeat this experience.UPDATE Number two:It seems to pay to buy through Amazon. Instead of a $233 dollar refund (299 - 60) I got a refund of 286. I guess Amazon wants my repeat business, whereas the inverter seller figured I was a lost cause. So, I was only out 50 dollars and some time on this.In retrospect, asking a 1500 watt charger to start up an 800 watt motor was asking too much of it. One horsepower is 745 watts, I believe. Most sump pumps I see advertised are from 1/3rd to 2/3rd's horsepower.I decided to go with a simpler but more powerful inverter from Whistler, a 3000 watt inverter, and use a separate high quality 15 amp battery charger. This is less expensive (246 for the Whistler 3000 watt inverter and 135 for the charger) versus buying the inverter charger from AIMS (449). The disadvantage is that the AC device is constantly powered from the battery charger (If the draw is only 15 amps on the DC side, which will power a 150 watt light bulb on the AC side.) or the battery, never directly from the AC house current. The upside is that it is cheaper this way, you know that it will work in a power outage (The whole point of this exercise) since it always runs off the DC current, and the inverter is much simpler and cheaper (not being a charger) and hopefully more reliable. Time will tell. I haven't yet really put the new inverter to a real test because I need heavier cables (0 gauge, two gauge is not enough for 3000 watts.). They are in the mail.

Great product and works well with PCs too!

Product was everything I had hoped for! I hooked it up to a 12v marine battery and hooked 2 high end production PCs, an iMac and 2 servers because ive been having alot of power ooutages. I've tested by pulling the power at least 4 times now and I get a half hour run time to 50 percent drain on the battery and when I plug power back in the inverter charges it back up and maintains the battery charge for next time. The PCs and servers all operate as if the power never went off. No distortion in monitors or anything else. Works great even for computers and servers. I'll update as more time passes. The only thing is, the fan is quite audible when it turns on. When on power mode with charging function disabled it only runs periodically but when you have charge function on it runs all the time. Other than that, awesome so far!

Great Product!

The seller was amazing shipping was fast and exactly what I needed to complete my project! This was perfect for a new sump pump install much easier than adding a secondary pump. So far testing with the actual 1/3 HP pump has been super successful.
