Best cup of coffee!
Best cup of coffee in a very long time! My beloved espresso maker died over a year ago and replacing it has been ridiculous! And, I don’t think I want much, but I do want one good cup of coffee every morning! My requirements were over 16 bar and 1200 watts and a 4 shot filter & holder at a decent price. I have bought & resold at least 6 machines in the last year and most did not have all I was looking for and did not make a good cup of coffee. This very inexpensive machine does. I love it!

Treat Yourself to this Daily Indulgence
My coffee maker died and while searching for a replacement, I came across this little gem. Comparably priced, this IMUSA Cappuccino/Espresso maker is impressive and oh, so affordable at only $4 more than a standard coffee maker. The assembly is simple. The end result is delicious. The milk steamer function is delightfully easy to use. I used 2 scoops of ground espresso coffee sold in a little block. For Cappuccino, I fill the tiny pot to the top of the metal band at top of pot. I use a glass one-cup Pyrex measuring cup for the 1/4 cup milk. Be advised that to access the steamer, you must wait until the tiny 2-serving pot fills to the first line (~) and then, switch the on/off/brew knob from Brew to the Steamer function. Before you switch to the Steamer function, make sure your milk container is held beneath the steamer and the head of the steamer is submerged to avoid steam or splatter issues. I hold the measuring cup by the bottom and the froth is usually substantial by the time the milk is hot - I can feel it through the bottom of the glass measuring cup. The more fat in the milk, the less froth develops. I use whole milk successfully but have also tried half and half with lackluster results. After steaming/frothing is adequate and while still holding container under steamer, switch back to Brew function, set down frothed milk, and brew will complete. Unplug the machine when Brew light goes out.I added two tablespoons of chocolate syrup to my cup, stirred the whole tiny pot of coffee into it, poured milk topped with foam in using a tiny rubber spatula to get every bit of froth, and dusted with Cinnamon. Shredded dark chocolate would be great here, too.Espresso is made exactly the same way, just omit the entire milk/steamer part.If it's your birthday, add one shot Jonah's Curse Black Coffee Rum to your cup before pouring the coffee. The only downside about this product is that since you have to wait until machine cools completely to make a second tiny pot, you only get one serving at a time. Unless you're making espresso and then, you get two full espresso cup servings. So if you want to enjoy Cappuccino with a friend, it's going to be tricky. Otherwise, drink it slowly because you're going to want more and the machine has to cool. Enjoy:)

Cuban friend told me to get this!
Great little machine. Simple to use and makes great espresso! Love the milk frother too! I have bought other brands in the past but this is the best by far. My cuban friend told me to get this one!

Basic
Product arrived nicely packaged and in good condition. Be careful unpacking as the carafe is in its own little cardboard clamshell with the filter basket holder, at first glance might be mistaken for a simple packing insert. It is about as basic a machine as you can get, but if your counterspace is limited it's a great size, very compact.I ran a pot of plain water through it first and then immediately made a pot of espresso with fresh water. Seems to work just like any other I've owned. I tamped down my Cafe Bustelo and despite what some other reviews have said it made it just fine. I never tamp the espresso super tightly, even with expensive Italian machines; that only causes the steam to force its way into places you don't want it to be - typically straight into the electrical components like your lights or switch which fries them. Water is incompressable, folks. Didn't have to turn on the steam wand first or anything odd like that, just turned the knob and in a couple of minutes hot espresso came out.On that note, I really don't like the knob. There seem to be no detents or "clicks" for the position it's in, or any kind of tactile feedback. Difficult to explain, but it just twists around roughly and gives you the feeling you're stripping it or something. Takes more force than I'd like, feels like I'm going to break it. Maybe will smooth out a bit with use. Not sure how long it will last, the whole machine feels really cheap and flimsy. But, it did what it is supposed to do, and at this price point you can't expect much in the way of bells and whistles.I wish the steaming wand folded out of the way, but not a big deal. The top of the carafe is hinged, with a really chintzy and tiny plastic hinge which I don't like. Ones like this typically break in short order, usually when you put it back together after washing. So, I'm saving my old press-fit carafe. The tab/lever that holds the filter basket in the holder for emptying gets in the way, flopping around as it doesn't fold down into the handle, so I removed it. I've never dumped grounds using that thing anyway, I take the filter basket out and tap the side gently with the holder to release the "puck". Since it works I'll give it a 4 stars, with one deducted because of the gnarly switch. Will update if the machine gives up the ghost quickly.

Great frothing. Easy to use.
Great bang for the buck. I had a mid-range equivalent, but I prefer a basic model that allows me to froth to my heart's content. Used it twice in 3 days. Highly recommend.
