Winsor & Newton Studio Collection Artist Pencils, Color Pencils, Set of 48

I was specifically looking for art supplies that would all fit in one 1gal ziplock bag for transport/travel.There’s probably a better way than how I accomplished this, but Windsor & Newton typically makes quality art products, these were a good value at the time of purchase, and considering the size there is wide color variety.These WN pencils are perfect for MY purposes but they are not the quality a professional artist would generally expect or use. They are small, functional, color pencils with above average but below studio level quality. The tin is an added bonus.I love the product, caveats noted for others. 5/5

This brand is my long time companion during my 30 years career. I always used all the ink products, this is my first time with acuarelle colours. Hope they as good as the staedler's

Good quality. Good colors. Had to buy a sharpener to make sure they didn’t break. Broke on a regular sharpener but Faber sharpener worked

I’m starting to draw again and this kit seems to have everything a nearly beginner needs. The tin case is a nice addition. A value as well.

What I didn’t expect was a journey of artistic discovery, personal growth, and several accidental pencil-related stabbings.First, let’s talk about the pencils themselves: they’re sleek, perfectly balanced, and come in a range of shades so refined you’ll find yourself whispering “Graphite is life” at 2 a.m. The moment I held one, I felt like a serious artist—even though the last thing I drew was a stick figure dog that looked like a mutant potato.Inspired, I started sketching: first a leaf, then a tree, and then… my destiny. Okay, maybe just a bowl of fruit. But the pencils make shading so smooth and satisfying that even my uneven apple looked deliberate, like it came from a fancy art exhibit titled “Imperfect Perfection.”The best part? These pencils make mistakes look good. Smudges? Artful texture. A line where it shouldn’t be? Spontaneous brilliance. These watercolor pencils are a bargain at this price point. Please note that you will have to use them with a bit of pressure as the initial impact is quite light. I think higher price points might have better pigment with which to use and get the full quality of the pencil. If you search on Google how to use water color pencils, you'll see a warning about being careful how you sharpen them; that they can easily break because of their soft core. I've taken pictures of what I colored before wetting them - there is a nice vividness; however, it's best to use on stiffer paper. This was a good purchase.

Purchased as a gift so can't speak to this specific item, although the recipient did love it. I've used Windsor and Newton products many times and feel their products are top quality.
