Great for KOT fans, but limited to just 2 players.
One thing that we learned through lockdown was how many of our games were for 3+players. Even the 2 player games were a very poor experience when the big mechanics really required 4+ players to work well.King Of Tokyo, which is one of my favourite games, falls apart when you reduce it to two players. All the benefits of being in first place (being able to attack multiple people) disappear when its just a pair of you.KOT:Duel is a very different game, with multiple win conditions, and relies far more on building up your monster's powers using special cards and dice combos. Its more thinky, complex, and relies on your opponent not being able to defend from multiple tactics. Honestly, this should be an option in the main game, but it works well as a standalone
