Nice compact, high capacity SSD
Great device, looks really nice on the desk. Not cheap but worth it for reliable storage. Comes with a USB lead and power supply so you can promptly get started up. During operation it does get very hot to the touch but from other reviews this seems quite normal.

Difficult at this stage not to award this SanDisk 8TB SSD drive the full five stars. Although it has a somewhat surprising shape it can easily be tucked away somewhere unobtrusive on or under your desk. It is supplied with multiple interchangeable plugs to suit global power outlets. I reformatted the drive for use on a MacBook Pro and it replaces a traditional HDD as my main drive. My only slight area of unease is that it is noticeably warm to the touch at all times, so are hoping this is not a cause for concern later on down the line. SanDisk is part of Western Digital and the drive comes with a 3yr warranty. At the current price of just under £600 it is a considered purchase but can recommend for its capacity, technology and form factor.

What a shambolic installation routine!
Not impressed with the set-up. Got this for my Mac. Definitely NOT plug & play. Instructions took me to WD website which required me to register it before I could access instructions. WD wouldn't accept the serial number so I was stuck. Googled the issue and ended up at Scandisk. Similar problem but this registration needed a copy of the invoice. The Amazon invoice link wouldn't function so pratted about with uploading photos instead. Finally registered it but no help whatsoever from support. Somewhere, hours before, I remembered a suggestion that I might need to use the Mac Disk Utility software. No real idea but the only function that responded was the disk erase utility. That's not going to hurt an empty disk and IT WORKED. After erasing the virgin empty disk it appeared in Finder and I can read/write to it. Four wasted hours and a very grumpy customer.I might report on its speed and reliability another day but if you're not computer literate I'd stay away!

Using a Mac? Stay as far away from this paper weight as possible.
I never leave reviews but I feel I have to stop anyone else from wasting their money. If you plan to use this with Macs of any kind say away because this ExSSD disappears all the time. Sometimes it would work but then a lot of the time it wouldn't show up. I used the USB C and A connections and neither would work when it did this. After safely unplugging from one Mac studio and then plugging into a MacBook Pro it will not show up at all. Plugging it back in to the original computer and it still will not show. Disk utility can't find it either. The drive was formatted correctly for Macs. For £600+ don't bother getting this as most of the time it's effectively a paper weight.

Different product to all reviews!!!
Even Sandisk scamming customers by introducing a new product into an existing listing. Shame on you, 80k positive reviews for a different product to what’s listed.
