Terrific book! Shows in detail how to correct form and stride...posture too. Easy to understand and written in a way that is not too technical. A must have for every runner's shelf!

Gorgeous explanations of how to improve form
Just got this at a local bookstore and it's absolutely gorgeous. So many topics are covered in such detail, as someone coming out of a back injury I couldn't have wished for a better resource!

Excellent book! Loaded with information.
My son runs both Track & Field and Cross Country. He’s done nothing but improve over this past year. His form in general, consistency (pacing) and speed have improved immensely. There is so much information in this book! When I received the delivery of it, I skimmed through and was so surprised! Whether you’re running for school or recreation, this book is amazing!

Good guidebook. Very useful
Found this easy to read and has a lot of good information. It also had a training plan, although I did find the speeds given in the plan were too precise for the treadmill I use,

Balanced and complete but not the most compelling read
The book is well laid-out, the information is concise, well-balanced and a fair compilation of where we are with running science today. I think it would make an excellent Christmas gift for someone new to running as it covers most of the bases and is easy to understand complete with training plans. That said, this book just didn't click for me; it felt like a digest of every Runners World article of the last few years that I'm already familiar with. I didn't feel like I'd learnt anything new or felt inspired to try anything different to what I'm already doing. Although it provided details about what the variations of terrible running form were, it didn't offer much in the way of tangible ways to improve that, for example it talks about the correct angle of the arm etc. but it would've been good to have some drills or tests to identify if I fell into it's classification of a bad running form. Having since read "Runner's World Your Best Stride", I realise that this book is missing a compelling narrative that drives you to put the book down and immediately start strength training, too much of the book is dedicated to foot-strike and we're just left with; yes barefoot running maybe better for you or it could be bad for you, it depends. The book is uncontroversial and balanced but that also made it quite dry in its delivery and I have to be honest, was looking forward to it ending, that said it's a decent reference guide that will stay on my shelf as it may help friends and family if they start running.
