Lightwave JSJSLW103 LW103 Connect Series Socket Locker Remote, 2023 V, Black, Hand Held

Used as a simple controller for a remote on/off 13A socket, not specifically for locking. I'd replaced an EasyHome socket which had problems, but these recurred with the Lightwave, and seem to have been down to external RF interference. So the LIghtwave RF worked intermittently on the day of purchase - not at all for two days after, but has been very good since. I assume whatever caused the interference was sorted. I haven't re-tested the HomeEasy socket, but likely it wasn't genuinely faulty. Lightwave support isn't yet properly integrated into Siemens, but in frustration I contacted Siemens support and they phoned back the next day with helpful advice. I learned that these devices are vulnerable - if someone's generating interference, there's not much you can do about it..

I fitted in the LightwaveRF Wireless Single Power Socket and need some way of controlling whilst I tried out the product. It arrived and it is quite small, which is not too much of a problem but does mean you have to remember where you put it.Initially I was going into the room and aiming the remote at the plug socket to turn it off and locking it and watching the light sequence to check it was working OK.I have to say the distance that this remote works is quite astonishing, current I can work it, not just from the next room, but also from a different floor, through a brick wall.So i am very impressed with the remote and the system itself but I image when I start to expand the system that this remote will become redundant once I need to control multiple devices.

There is a serious design flaw (in my opinion) in LightwaveRF sockets in that they won't stay switched on if the mains power fails for even a moment - i.e. your video recorder won't record, your fridge will stay switched off, lights won't come back on to tell you the power is back, etc., etc.This product, billed as a "Socket Locker" seemed to be the solution, but it is not. It does NOT lock sockets on, but merely stops someone switching them off deliberately - pretty much the opposite of what is needed for most people...It's a pity that JSJS Design haven't fixed this inexplicable design fault, as their products are otherwise excellent, But until it's fixed the sockets are of limited application in the real world, and this particular product is 100% useless.

Works great but this price doesn't turn on and off multiple devices individually. You can set it to control a group though.
