Easy and cheap way to bring rear USB3 ports to the front
There's not a ton to say about this converter device. It installs into an open, front-facing 3.5" bay (i.e. where your floppy drive may be/have been) and it has two, good quality USB cables that you run through your case, and out the back side. Then, the cables are plugged into the motherboard's rear USB ports. This type of setup is not ideal, as you have the cables looped out the back of the computer all the time, but that's something the motherboard and case makers need to hash-out. For those of us with cases that do not have front-facing USB3 ports built-in, this is a great, cheap option. The build quality is good and installation took no more than 5 minutes. Even a computer beginner should be able to install this, assuming you know how to take the cover off the computer and use a screwdriver. Now that I have this Silverstone adapter installed, I can use my USB3 hard drive and wow - it's 3X faster in HDtach. Definitely worth it, as I'm now limited by the speed of the drive and not the USB interface. If you have a board with USB3 ports on the backside, grab this adapter and bring them to the front of your case where they're actually usable!

USB 3.0 functions but features and quality LACK
Of course the main function of this is to provide two front USB 3.0 ports which it does and they work at full speed when connected.I used an adapter to connect these into the 20-pin motherboard header, since my case does not have it's own fron USB 3.0 ports. You CANNOT use the two slots for 2.5" drives without MODIFYING the enclosure, I had to cut a larger hole at the bottom for the USB cables to come out and it was VERY close to not fit at all by shoving the cables down very close to the front to fit 2x 2.5" SSD's in this.2nd problem: There is only one screw holding down the front USB 3.0 ports and the way the cables pull at it the ports bend sideways and I'm lucky they don't bend enough to where I could not fit usb 3.0 plugs in to the ports. The devices stick out at an angle for both ports.Overall the total functionality is there with my modification. The metal prongs on the USB 3.0 ports do not sit outside the plastic like the picture shows, unless I would be able to move it but I don't think it came that way.

Good Idea, bad implementation
It is build well and probably works well, but what's the point of a zero addition of 3.0 USB? Meaning you lose two 3.0 rear ports to have two front ports. Why not have connection to MOBO?
