iFiZEN Phono - Preamplifier for Turntables and Record Players (RCA Output)

Just like others said it is very clear with great separation. Recordings sound more live.Compared to the NAD preamp I also have the sound is more balanced. The NAD is on the warm side not in a bad way just different. This also gives you more choices for MC settings.The negatives. The power supply is a joke. It is short and very cheaply made. Looks like something that would power a child’s toy not a piece of audio equipment.Hence Ifi making it easier for the consumer to want to by the upgrade. This unit is not as quite as the NAD but both are better than the Pioneer SX737 and Onkyo A7 built in stages.The Ifi is hooked up to my Jolida tube amp and DUAL turntable with a Grado blue cartridge sending sound to Klipsch. Very nice match.NAD back to the Pioneer, Music Hall, OM20 combo also a nice match.I would recommend this product based on sound quality.10/29/22 UPDATEI switched turntables to the MusicHall OM 20. The iFi is just as quiet as the NAD with its greater gain it just amplified the Hum coming from the Grado cart. I also believe the high efficiency Klipsch speakers picked up the hum much easierThe DUAL/Grado set up it is not as present with NAD Pioneer combo sending sound to vintage speakers.So far the cheap power supply has not caused any issues6/23/23 UpdateStill amazed how much power this delivers. After a year of usage no problems with the amp or the power supply. Still the best value in a phono amp. Been thinking about turntable and MC upgrade. Once I do will update

This phono pre amp is great in terms of quality materials used inside and outside. Aluminium shell. Well composed and selected components inside. Value for money. The only downside is the generic RCA cable that came with it. I think it just a courtesy to have provided one. The RCA cable is not great. Apart from the hardware composition, the sound quality is definitely an upgrade from my internal phono preamp of my Marantz PM6006. The ifi delivers more gain, details and instrument separation quiet background. For this price point you can’t ask for more. I definitely recommend this product.

La calidad de construcción es homologa a la de sonido. Nunca había escuchado tan nítidamente mis discos. Es recomendable usarlo junto con un buen receptor o, como en mi caso, un amplificador de audífonos, uso el ifi air can.

Great little preamp, I bought it as an upgrade to the internal phono preamp in my integrated receiver (Pioneer Elite SC-LX704, speakers Infinity IL30). Makes a very noticeable difference with my Debut Carbon Evo turntable. I upgraded the cartridge from the 2M Red to AT-VM95ML at the same time, but I tested the sound quality in stages.To my ears, the iFi preamp made at least as big a difference in sound quality (bass response, clarity of sound) as the cartridge upgrade.
