Fantastic game that plays quick and fun for all ages
This game exceeded my expectations. It is more difficult than I thought and for that I am very happy. The kids enjoy it and thanks to it's fast play time we can play a few rounds and their attention is not lost. We've not yet been able to win in the allotted time, and we'll keep trying with smiles on our faces. It's easy to learn and easy to teach as we've played with kids 9 + older as well as adults.

A Fun Time
This is a decent game, similar to gameplay like Tsuro, Forbidden Island, and Forbidden Desert. Like Tsuro, the object of the game is to lay down tiles and move a game piece along the tracks you create until you reach the end. Like Forbidden Island and Forbidden Desert, you use tiles and teamwork to complete the goal of reaching the end. All of the above games are a little more strategic in gameplay than what Infernal Wagon offers. Infernal Wagon’s gameplay is simple. You lay down tiles and work with the other players to complete the track until all the cards are gone.According to the game, you have 7 minutes to complete this task. So, if you want a quick party game to play a few rounds, this would be a blast of fun. I am uncertain of how replayable this game is in one sitting session. After a few rounds, you might be ready to move onto a new game and try this one again at your next game party. My husband and I played the game a few times. We did not always make the 7-minute time crunch. I imagine if you play this game a lot and with people you work really well with, you could probably ace the 7-minute deadline. As well as making a decent party game, it could work as a travel game too, depending on the right conditions. Its package is small and will travel well. You wouldn’t be able to play it in the car, but once you reached your destination, as long as you had a table or enough floor space, you could whip out the game for a few minutes of fun. Due to the nature of laying down tiles in a haphazard fashion, a large playing space is required. Eventually, some of the tiles disappear, but for most of the game, you need a fair amount of surface space to play. The game includes a themed soundtrack that acts as a 7-minute timer. The instruction booklet included a QR scan code that is supposed to link you to the site that has this music file. I was not able to link to the site with that QR code. I received an error when I tried. Instead, I went directly to the website listed in the Instruction Manual. Some of the site is in French (I think), so it was a little difficult to figure out where to find the Mp3 file. There are three files on the website. The Bande Originale file is the 7-minute music track. The other two are shorter and are meant if you want to play the harder difficulty settings. It was a fun addition to the game and the musical score does add a sense of urgency. The music file didn’t seem to end when we played. It looped, so we weren’t exactly sure when the 7 minutes were up. There are distinct chimes near the end, so I assume that was our indicator. The art style on the tiles match the theme well and are fun to look at. The wooden game piece is well made, and the printed decal is colorful and does not look haphazard or cheap.Overall, we enjoyed the game and would play it again, just in brief play sessions.

Still figuring it out
We always love adding a new game to our collection but I think this one is likely to end up at the back of the closet. What we liked about it-The illustrations are colorful and funThe box has a small footprint so it's not a pain to storeThe box itself is travel friendly (though the gameplay is not)and unfortunately that's about it.What we think could be improved-This is a timed game with no timer. I figured there would be a sand timer in the box but there is none. You are supposed to play their themed music or use your phone timer. Not a big deal but if the game is timed I expect there to be a method to time it included. We played the first two games untimed anyway because learning the rules is about as clear as mud. We both read through them a couple of times but still had questions the rules never answered. The first two games we played we lost within a few plays due to having to remove cards. We shuffled really well after the first one because we thought that was the issue but it seems it's just harder to play with two people. We both agreed at the end that this should really be a 3+ people game.We also didn't realize how much space this game would take up. With the box being so small and it being a card game we didn't think it would be an issue but it definitely had a larger footprint so make sure you have a large table to play on or you'll run out of room.7 minutes seems a bit too short with only two people as well. I know for sure we wouldn't have made it those first couple of games and on the third timed game we definitely didn't make it. You have to make it through the whole deck to win and that's a much bigger task with two people than it is with 3 or 4.Overall, this will definitely not be making our top five games anytime soon. We usually only play two people so this game will likely end up at the back of the game closet. I would only recommend it if you play with larger groups of people regularly.
