Q: wait, does this have both a type c and a type a connector?

Yes if you slide it one way, the Type C connector is revealed. Then when pushed the other way the Type A connector is revealed.

Q: Is there a way to attach this to your key chain?

There is a tiny cutout on the rear which presumably is intended for a (thin) keychain or thread loop. But it's so small as to be useless in most cases; I have a lanyard clip attachment with super thin bungee cord to thread onto things like this, and it doesn't fit. I tried to attach the very small split ring from my Swiss Army knife on it, and it was pretty much impossible. You will be hard-pressed to find something which can attach to this. It makes me regret picking this model, as I personally need something that can be clipped on and off from a lanyard.

Q: Will this lock (with a click) in the center, closed position?

Yes, but it doesn't lock outside of the center very well, I have to hold it from moving to put it into the usb port.

Q: Will this flash drive fit side by side next to the power cable on a late 2016 MBP? Apple have given very little room it seems to me.

Yes, it should fit right next to the power cables as long as the switch is facing you instead of facing the power cable.
