40 Treet Classic Double Edge Razor Blades

These are plenty sharp and do not irritate my skin. These seem to actually work the best in your pre 1970 butterfly top razors. They last me 3 shaves which is a great value for my money. Rinse them well and they will surprise you.

Also tried the black beauties. These seem to last longer and feel smoother after 2 shaves. But three shaves is max for any blades, according to my face and experience.

I find when Treet carbon steel blades are paired with the right razor, the results are very, very good. Example: I don't care for this blade in my vintage late 40's Gillette Aristocrat, but when loaded in my Razorock .84P solid bar, it performs extremely well. Another feature of carbon blades is they don't have the longevity of stainless steel blades. I use these for one shave then off to the bin. But they are priced such that it is not an issue, and in return I get predictable, smooth shaves each and every time.

Used a blade today, first time. I find it to be an excellent blade. I received a smooth, tug-free shave. I don't know how many shaves I will get from one blade but the first one is a good sign. These Treet Classic DE Blades are carbon steel, not stainless. Carbon steel rusts. They require a bit of nursing, unless someone wants to use the blade only once. If not, the easiest way to prevent a problem and to get more than one shave out of a blade is to rinse the blade (still in the razor is okay) thoroughly after using it, and then to dip it in heavy duty isopropyl alcohol (91-99%). After a good submersion in the alcohol the razor and blade should be hung up to dry. No water on the blade, no rust.Now, the blades themselves are evidence that carbon steel will sharpen to a keener edge than its relative stainless steel. These blades are sharp. I can't say exactly how sharp because I have no way to measure such things. But this I do know: I've never had an easier, smoother, slicker shave; and at the moment there are at least 20 brands of DE blades in the medicine cabinet in the bathroom. The range of the quality of the shave that I get from these various brands of blades goes from awful to excellent. As is regularly acknowledged, all blades don't work for all people the same way. I find, however, from my own experience that these somewhat peculiar carbon steel blades Treet blades are at the excellent end of the spectrum.
