Carbon steel is sharper than stainless
Carbon steel holds a sharper edge than stainless. I have a thick beard after a day or two and these black beauties cut through it without issue. I only use them once before discarding because they will rust. I always liked using a safety razor, but disdain using stainless razors, they really tear me up and provide a bad shave. Where as Treet brand carbon steel razors are smooth and way sharp no nicks whatsoever. Just remember they will rust, hell even certain stainless steels rust. Try them you wont regret it.

I like the look but feels mid
Sharpness 2/5Smoothness 5/5Longevity 1/5I don’t like feather as I am a person with acne. It cuts my face up no matter the lather, hot towel, or shave soap. I’m trying all kinds of blades and thought it would be cool to have black blades. That’s where it ends there. The more often you use double edge blades, your hair thickens over time. I go over the same spot sometimes over ten times and there is still a slight stubble. I would place this as my top 3 for smoothness but that’s about it. I also break these and put them in straight razors for my barber gig. Literally, 1/5 for line ups. Nice try, but I’ll never try again. Their other Treet products are better but inconsistent. Felt like claws one day and top tier another day within the same packet. Polsilver reigns supreme but they went out of business. If I would have known, I would have bought several thousand Polsilver blades and never settle for anything else for the remainder of my life.

Our new Go-to blades
These blades cut well in both single and double razor handles. They will rust fast so you may only get a shave or two but these have become our go-to blades.

Very smooth razor blade
I am very positively surprised by these razor blades. I have what I would consider a medium beard growth, my facial hair are not coarse but not soft either, my skin is pretty sensitive. In my Muhle R41 (which is broadely considered an "aggressive" DE safety razor) the Treet Carbon "Black Beauty" works extremely well for me. Very smooth shave, needed only 2 passes for a BBS shave. Usually with other blades I need 3 passes (including the highly praised Feather blades, which are undoubtedly very sharp and great blades but unfortunately cause me quite some skin irritations). I'm so delighted with this combination of razor + treet carbon blade. Hardly any skin irritation, no razor burn and no tugging. Fantastic ... and yes, these blades do rust. They need a bit more care. I usually take 'em out after shaving, rinse and use a hairblower to dry them. That seems to work quite well. I get three fantastic shaves out of one blade before it degrades and I need to discard it. The cost per shave is a few cents. I love that. The extra effort in "babysitting" the carbon blades with the quality of shaves is totally worth to me. As always, YMMV. Like others mentioned, I would suggest to get a sample of these and try 'em out.

Carbon steel can rust
Great comfortable blades. I would consider these mild even in an aggressive razor. I guess it might depend on the hardness of your water, but these blades seem to rust on me as soon as I’m done with them on the first shave. I’ve tried wiping them off. Carbon steel can rust but at the current price, these are still a good value at a single use. I plan on trying more Treet blades.

Worst DE blades I have ever used.
I've always wanted to give carbon steel blades a try, so I went with these. First, the good. The black look makes them look cool. That's it for the good. Unfortunately, for actually shaving my face, they're terrible. They're not sharp, not smooth and there's noticeable tug and pull from start to finish. Even after two passes there were still patches on my face with stubble. Oh, on top of all that, they rust as well. Any stainless steel, platinum coated blade is worlds better than this mess. If you want Treet blades, pass on these and go for the Platinum Super Stainless version that they make instead - those are excellent.
