OSTENT Full Repair Parts Replacement Housing Shell Case Kit for Nintendo DS Lite NDSL Color Black

This was very disappointing. While the shell looks good from the outside, there are tons of measurement issues including two so bad I have to alter the shell to get the power switch to fit (I actually gave up and didn't even put it in because it wouldn't close at all) the piece the switch is supposed to slide into wouldn't allow it to at all, not even slightly. Even after modding it with a soldering iron I couldn't get it to work.Worst of all? The shoulder buttons. Dear lord, I spent four hours trying to figure out why the right side wouldn't close. The metal bars that go through the springs are thinner than normal so they fall out constantly, but then I realized the hole on the back of the shell that the bar is supposed to be inserted into won't allow it to go far enough so that the PCB can sit flush like it should. Again, soldering iron sorta got it there but long story short, without melting the plastic at the bottom of the hole (and ruining the finish on the outside because it went through to the other side lol) it wouldn't even close! All this and also the buttons are even more loose than a normal Lite.At this point I am just gonna shell out for a GBA, mod that, and upgrade my 2DS to a New 3DS Xl lol. The screen replacement I got for the top screen ended being decent at least, but for now it isn't fully assembled. I should get my money back or something but I don't wanna deal with a return.Idk who else you should get a shell from, DS/Lite etc are not like GBA and modded or worked with heavily, maybe make a GBA Macro or something. I bought this product and when it arrived the plastic felt light and kinda cheap. Unsurprisingly screws were missing, edges inside were sharp and excess plastic was not cut away making it almost unusable. The cherry on top was when I couldn't see the piece of sharp black plastic in the slot to slide the ribbon cable to the bottom portion of the console to connect to the motherboard and said piece of excess plastic cut through my ribbon cable. So now not only do I have a useless case, but I also have to buy a new screen as well. Avoid at all costs!

The parts all came complete and I would have ignored the poor quality screens and strange bubbling on the top of the plastic case if it wasn't for the fact that the mold was not made properly. The parts that go into the left and right of the middle hinge area stop earlier than they should and do not go in all the way. Furthermore upon attempting to put in the left piece the set it did not go into the right part of the left hinge, but instead upon applying pressure went into the right part of the right hinge (as pictured, this is not where it is supposed to end up). This appears to be the fact that the left hole expands greatly under pressure do to the crack (which was there once the part arrived).tl;dr Do not buy this cheap excuse for a molded part and look elsewhere, this one isn't going to do you any good

Only down fall is it didnt come with instructions to replace on system

i bought two of these, for myself and my girlfriend. when applying the bottom, its not a good fit like the original and after putting the back piece on, both of the DS lites stopped charging completely. i cant figured out what it did to the motherboard but both of them stopped charging only after putting that piece on, i have new motherboards and used the original bottoms. may be mismatched colors but at least it worksi did mine first and was concerned about why it stopped charging, so i would repeatedly check the charging on my girlfriends ds and the after the last piece it wouldnt charge any longerbeyond that the screws are awful and strip very easily also the originals dont fit well especially the piece with the light tube. idk if its in my head but the buttons also dont feel as good to press.and in case it wasnt obvious the plastic is a much lower quality than stockfor clarification the bottom piece i refer to is the piece that holds the battery

This product feels cheap, maybe its the one I received but one of the screw holes was cracked when I received it and the case wasn't closing properly.

One of the biggest complaints I have with these after market shells is when screw holes don’t line up properly. I don’t know if it was just a defect in my shell, but I’ve ordered a number of these over the years and found this to be an issue. Another big problem is the holes inside the shell for ribbon cables and buttons to pass through are poorly cut or punched. I usually find excess plastic that I need to remove with a small razor before proceeding with my rebuild. The same was true on this shell, so beware! Make sure to remove excess plastic that, in some cases, can even ruin a ribbon cable. A final note: the seller did not include anything to adhere the top screen cover to the shell…

Don't waste your time or money case fit horribly and when trying to reassemble the L and R buttons wouldnt work when screws were put in
