I like coconut but it's nice to have this because I ...
I haven't used this for quite a full week yet, so if anything major changes I will update my review. So far I haven't had any issue with this oil. I've never tried any before but I know at least that with this brand you can not taste or smell any of it. I like coconut but it's nice to have this because I don't want a coconut flavor all the time. The top does dribble a little which isn't really an issue, just kind of an annoyance but I just take off the top and have no issues. As for if it works...it's hard for me to say right now how great of an impact it has. Currently I have a few autoimmune diseases, lyme, and a neuromuscular disease so I have quite a lot of issues going on with weakness, fatigue, inflammation, etc. This last month I've had a pretty bad flare up so I'm still having some issues ebb and flow in severity which throws off trying to see if something new is helping. However, I have the feeling that this is helping bit by bit.I actually want to take it everyday and honestly I have been a lot more mentally clear and out of a fog a lot more often this last week. I will be curious to see how my inflammation levels change in a month or so because I have a friend with a similar neuromuscular disease and it has helped her greatly with strength and inflammation. But I will update that when I find out again.I understand that people vary with how much mct oil helps them because what I understand is that people are at different points where their cells are ready to adapt or change to a different metabolic state, mainly going from using sugars as energy to more of a state of ketosis. But I'm lucky enough that I don't have any stomach issues with this and I think this will be a great stepping stone and boost to what my nutritionist wants me on (an autoimmune paleo protocol diet). Also, I was recently introduced to something called the chroniclymediseasesummit.com which was created by someone named Dr. Jay Davidson because his wife had been through quite the health ordeal over her lifetime from lyme and a worsening immune system. There are currently 3 "summits" (which is a series of interviews from all sorts of health experts) on there and yes you have to pay for them but by far it has been the biggest wealth of knowledge on sooo much more than lyme, and I've only watched the 3rd summit so far.But my point from all this info is that there is a interview on there by Dr. David Jockers who is doctor of natural medicine and a functional nutritionist and it's all about changing your diet (ketogenic) for inflammation and chronic disease and in it he recommends MCT oil to help. I had never heard of it but it did bring me here and I'm very excited to see where this takes me.Sorry for the long post, I just want to share what I know

Seems to help our mother who has Alzheimer's and chronic kidney disease with memory (to some degree) and energy
I purchased this product in hopes of helping my mother who has Alzheimer's dementia and chronic kidney disease stage 4, both of which affected her energy so badly that she couldn't even get herself up from a sitting or lying position after a brief hospitalization followed by a bout with C. difficile (C diff), an awful hospital acquired infection. She was also having trouble remembering to swallow water and other fluids due, we suppose, to progression of her dementia. We are also giving her raw virgin coconut oil as well as a few other supplements for energy and to rebuild her gut flora after the hospital antibiotics followed by the C diff. We have noticed that the MCT and coconut oil have helped her, in our opinion, to remember to swallow, which is extremely important since aspiration pneumonia is a big risk for later stage Alzheimer's patients. We do think that the MCT and coconut oils also helped her energy levels as most of the time she can now get herself up from a seated position, which was a godsend to us and our backs! While we don't expect any miracles from this MyToniq product or the coconut oil, especially since we only started her on them in the moderate to late stages of these diseases, we definitely think it has helped. I haven't used any other MCT oil products, so I can't make a brand comparision, but if you or a loved one is suffering from dementia or any condition resulting in decreased energy, why not give this a try? I am glad that we did. My understanding is that the ketones in MCT and coconut oils provide the brain energy when it is unable to effectively utilize glucose, as in Alzheimer's, which is sometimes called "diabetes of the brain." We started out with only one teaspoon per day, but worked up to about a tablespoon and a half. I recommend starting out at lower doses as high amounts of fat can cause diarrhea if the body is not used to them. So increase dosage slowly. The effects of both the MCT oil and the coconut oil do seem to wear off after 2-3 hours, but I suppose that is to be expected as it is a food product and not a timed-release pharmaceutical. (We give three doses of either MCT or coconut oil per day; we switch up the order.) I am all for trying any safe supplements over pharmaceuticals whenever possible and one's doctor or health care practitioner says it is okay. Mom's doctor is okay with it and he's not particularly into alternative or complementary medicine, but check with your own doctor. The only reasons I am giving the MyToniq four stars instead of five are that 1) we do not have any experience with any other brand of MCT oil to which to compare the My Toniq, and 2) because I would much appreciate a different type of bottle and bottle cap. We do end up wasting a bit of the oil most times we administer it to her as it's very liquid and somewhat difficult to pour into a spoon to give to Mom without spilling any. A dark squeeze bottle with a flip up spout on top might work better and perhaps would be easier to not spill. Overall, we are satisfied with MyToniq MCT Oil and will probably buy this brand again when we need more. I paid full price for this MyToniq MCT Oil on Amazon and this review is my own opinion.
