Q: Can you walk in this?

I unhook the strap and then can walk (then it's just like a regular strap)

I was advised by my Physical Therapist to buy this type of night splint to sleep in for my foot drop.

Q: Is the strap that goes around the top sewed on in the back? I bought a comparable one locally but it’s now sewed to the sock in the back so it slips

Yes. The strap is well secured at the back.

Q: I have a tight hamstring that affects my foot. Will this sock help?

No. it helps with the calf and Achilles' tendon issues. It is not comfortable to wear either.
