I bought a stylish Baggallini backpack for a trip to London. It was everything I wanted except it had no sternum strap. It was very easy to install this strap. After adjusting it to the right fit, I put in a couple of stitches to hold it in place. Spent ten days walking around London and this strap meant my Baggallini backpack was secure and did not slide off to one side.

I bought this item on the recommendation by my sister. I was in between sizes on my jeans & my pants kept sliding down. I didn’t want to have to unbuckle my belt every time I had to use the bathroom. At my age I use the toilet way to frequently to be having to unbuckle every time! This was the perfect solution. It does the work of a belt without all the work.

A good solution for backpacks that don't have these straps. It keeps things secure and prevents the shoulder straps from slipping down. They do tend to slide down when not in use requiring constant readjustment but overall OK.

Worked great for my husband’s backpack on our last trip! He prefers to have a chest strap, but liked the storage and cup holders in our current backpack. This did the trick and worked perfectly!

Way too big to be a backpack chest strap. Smallest it goes is a whopping 8” which my girlfriend says is really big, compared to what she’s used to at least.

I’m using this sternum strap on an Eastpak padded zippl’r model - this pack obviously wasn’t built with one, and this add on strap fits the bill 100%. I just wanted a little extra pull on the shoulder straps to keep them from chafing my inner arms, and this works exactly as I wanted. As some others have stated, the strap is extra long, but that’s so it can be used on a variety of backpacks. My bag doesn’t have any additional loops sewn on the shoulder strap that I can use to anchor the sternum strap so it does migrate to the bottom of the shoulder strap when not in use, but that’s just how it is - I’m assuming that if your bag didn’t already have a sternum strap added, then it probably won’t have the anchor points either and if it does, you probably wouldn’t need this product. All in all, the plastic hardware seems sturdy and I wasn’t looking for them but I kind of like the additional D rings you can hang small and light items from if needed. Great sternum add on strap and I think I’ll order another one for my Jansport.

Works ok, can handle significant weight. Seems durable especially compared to a different strap I'd purchased that broke the first day of use. Clasp is serviceable but not as smooth closing/releasing as others I've tried
