Blue Buffalo Basics Grain-Free Dry Dog Food for Adult Dogs, Limited Ingredient Diet, Salmon Recipe, 11-lb Bag

A very good dog food, albeit pricey. My dog was using a salmon and pea formula of another brand. He scratched a lot. So he's now on Apoquel. Whether the food or the Apoquel has helped his coat, I don't know, but he definitely likes this food very much. This one is salmon and potato. He's an 11 lb Jack Russell Chihuahua mix.

I have two little morkie pops (Maltese, yorkie, and poodle) and the male has been having an allergic reaction to every type of food I have gotten him until this! I felt so bad bc he had hives everywhere. His anxiety had gone through the roof because he was so itchy and miserable all the time. He had started to hide in his little house all the time, barely coming out at all. I am so happy I tried this dog food! I tried so many kinds and was close to giving up because I didn’t know what else to do. I got lucky I found this when I did because my poor pup was miserable and I felt like I was running out of options I could afford. If you are having trouble identifying what your pup is allergic to I recommend trying this!

I tested a lot of different food for my Lhasa apso before finding this. The chicken based foods made him scratch, this salmon base don't. Cheaper than regular blue buffalo dog food because it's the " basic" brand. Cannot find in stores.

Food is great. Delivery not so much.

My dog is a pitbull terrier mix and is allergic to anything with meat or grains… which is like everything! I switched brands for the first time in like 9 years since she has such a specific diet but this works so well for her. She has perfectly healthy stool and energy and I would definitely recommend this product for anyone who is in a similar boat and afraid to try a different food for their dog.

Switched to this recipe for my Coonhound because of a recommendation from my vet after trying everything to reduce/prevent his seizures. Our 7 year old Treeing Walker Coonhound started having seizures around 3 years ago out of nowhere. Scared the $%^& out of us. First vet said some breeds/dogs are more prone than others and it will just be something to manage the rest of his life. He was having one seizure every other month or so for 1.5-2 years. The effects and duration of the seizures were increasing to the point where we were considering an expensive, daily medication that he would take indefinitely. We had dreaded medicating him when the seizures started because of what we had read on potential side effects of the available medications. We had always fed him the normal, middle-of-the-road dog food not knowing what the ingredients were or that these could be causing allergic reactions until our new vet made this observation and recommended a chicken-free dog food. Exhausted, we said we'd try anything and honestly, I was skeptical that dog food would or could make a difference. Almost a year since switching and *knock on wood* NO SEIZURES!! Not saying that this is a cure or that it'll work the same on every dog or situation, but it's truly been a miracle for us. It also doesn't hurt that his coat looks better than ever! We have a 1 year old labradoodle who seemed to be having stomach issues with her Purina puppy chow. I decided to try Blue Buffalo turkey and potato for sensitive stomachs. She seems to really like the taste and she has been able to tolerate it without any issues. It is a bit more expensive than her previous food, but well worth it.

My dog seems to like this food and it seems her skin has been way better since switching to this dog food. She’s had major skin issues for years. We always have her blue Buffalo brand since she was a puppy but it was only since switching to the basics variety that her skin has gotten dramatically better.
