The birds do use them. Be sure hang them in a tree
Birds loved them. It was fun to watch the birds pick the cotton from the ball. I did help them by pulling some of the material outside the ball so the birds knew what was there. I do wish there was a place to purchase more of the cotton. This is the second year for use and the supply inside the ball is now gone.

UPDATE AND APOLOGIES
I need to UPDATE my review. I apologize and ask you to please disregard my previous review. The birds didn't come because it wasn't their nesting time!!! I am watching a chickadee right now taking pieces of the nesting material and preparing her nest up in the nearby palm tree. I think I have a pair of Eastern Bluebirds preparing their nest in the birdhouse. I apologize for my total lack of knowledge of nesting cycles. I am new to having a birdhouse and all that entails. These are really lovely I have two hanging nearby the birdhouse. It is adorable to watch these tiny birds pull the material out and fly off with it in their beak. I have given a 5-star rating. Again, apologies for my ignorance.

Build quality ok for a season
Not sure they will.last longer than that, but we will see. The material used in the ball I'm not sure about it seems like polyester you get in stuffed animals and I am not silure that's what birds want, but we shall see. No activity yet and it's been almost a week.

Birds like it.
I really like these. The birds really like these.I got the wise idea to refill them this year - why buy new ones, right? So I tore up cotton balls really small and stuffed it into one of the old baskets - the birds hate it. They hate the cotton, they hate the balls, they hate everything about it.How much are these? Not much. Nothing compared to the happiness of the birds who need nesting cotton.So, I bought new ones.I hope the birds will be happy again. :)These aren't really expensive. Get some. Happy birds, happy house. :):):)
