Not too interesting.

Disappointed in this book!! Really not too interesting. It is put together well, and she writes well. Each chapter is about a different rock star mum's story. I just thought it would be more to do with the rock stars. It's basically about the mums. Some are more interesting than others as it gives background to their story. I suppose it depends on whether or not you're interested in those singers. For me, I found about 4 stories worth reading. The others tend to be more 80s fame so lots of younger readers won't have a clue or won't care. Quite liked the vignette where she wrote about dave grohl. I found her quite boastful but that is typical of Americans.

Love it, it appeals to all music lovers.

I love all things "Foo" so I was very happy to learn Dave's mum had wrote a book about the mothers of musicians. I pre-ordered it, so the wait was lengthy especially when my American friends got their copy earlier than this side of the world. Also, the US version has a colour cover.Anyway, I ended up taking it away on holiday with me & began reading it & read it cover to cover in a couple of days. It's very insightful, funny & sad too.Ended up buying on Audible too as Dave & Virginia read the book - bonus!

Disappointed!

I suppose I was hoping for more about Dave & the other Foo's despite knowing it was a collection of 'interviews' with other rock Mothers!I didn't read half of the interviews because I didn't know who they were and it cost me quite a bit of money as I had to get it shipped from the US!!I wouldn't recommend this unless you want to know more about all the other "well known" rock stars!!!

The other side of fame - how your Mum sees it!

You don't need to be a Foo Fighters Fan to love this book. It is a very insightful read from a Mothers perspective and how their lives have changed or are affected when their child/ren become famous. Each chapter is an interview with a mum of a famous musician and the trials and tribulations they have encountered along the way. Between each of these chapters there is a tale from Virginia Grohl herself. It is in no way narcissistic, in fact it seems rather humble and a bit of a passion project of hers. It was a great read and a real eye opener. I didn't necessarily know who all the musicians were whose Mum's were featured int he book but it was still a great read.

A fascinating insight to the world of Rock stars

I likes it as it was a different point of view from the usual media hype that usually surrounds the characters in the world of rock music
