A separate power and tare button is needed
The power-off button is the tare button, effectively. The problem with this is when I'm trying to turn the unit off, it thinks I hit tare, usually four or five times before it works. Yes, I could just wait the 3-5 minutes before it turns itself off, but I'd much rather not.The USB-charge is a nice feature, but the physical size is not. Often, I'm trying to weigh just a the contents of a mixing bowl and I can't see the numbers because they are covered up. Trying to weigh something physically larger, I gave up.That said, this is a cheap and simple unit, and being able to rinse off the top is nice. I've used the scale to measure things typically measured in grams as well as things measured in ounces and had no difficulty switching, though why a scale would suggest fluid measurements (fl. oz.) I never figured out.The design feels like it was made by someone who wasn't asked to use it in a kitchen, and that's the real reason I gave it only three stars. It's just too small physically for most of my use cases given the display being flat instead of at an angle.

Finally, a kitchen scale that doesn't use replaceable batteries
I previously bought the Koios Food Saver (the device that removes air from a bag before food in it is frozen) and had it for about a year, without any problems/warranty issues, so I am happy with Koios products. My wife and I are following diets prescribed by our doctors and the recipes usually measure ingredients in grams or ounces, which this scale has. We chose it, rather than any that used AA or AAA batteries, as the accuracy of the measurements, from what other reviewers have said, seem inaccurate when the batteries near the end of their charge (but you wouldn't necessarily know this). Other reviewers have said this unit holds a charge for about 3 months before recharge is needed, or, if you have an outlet near where you want to use it, you could leave it plugged in - when not in use, it can be hung up out of the work area.In order to remove the excess water from tofu (our first time eating it) a "heavy" object needs to be placed on the tofu, which is sitting on paper towels. Most written articles suggest a cast iron skillet (they fail to say which size - a 10.5 inch diameter weighs about 5 pounds, while a "standard" 12 inch diameter weighs about 8 pounds)...I have a cast iron dutch oven, which as it turns out weighs nearly 8 pounds without the lid (according to the Koios scale that can weigh up to 10 pounds) - I used it and the tofu turned out great!I gave it 4 stars, rather than 5, because I thought Koios should have included the connector that plugs into the outlet and to which you plug in the USB cable - I didn't think it would have cost much more to be included, rather than forcing me to research whether any one could be used.

Accurate and functional, but the charging is a bit of a problem.
I bought this item in 2021, September, and used it on and off across the years. The actual functionality of the scale was great, always on point and very easy to use. Touch screen was not an issue for me at all, and it was very responsive. My issue comes with the fact that you CANNOT use the scale WHILE IT IS CHARGING. This means that you should probably keep it charging constantly on the off chance you need to suddenly use it (I'd use it for meal prepping and randomly weighing out my food just before I ate it). It became pretty annoying since the labels say it lasts a LONG time, months or at least days, in between uses, yet the thing always needed to be charged. The charging time until it is functional wasn't too bad, if I remember correctly, but it was annoying nevertheless.Eventually, I forget how long it took, but the scale just refused to actually charge up at all and would just not work anymore. I ended up just buying a conventionally wired scale since it would work without having to wait for a charge.

Had battery issues; a replacement works like a charm
I had issues with the battery not charging all the way (it was one bar short of full charge) and then not lasting nearly as long as advertised. I replaced my original scale. I still had similar issues with the replacement (not charging all the way but, this time, the charge lasted much longer).I got in touch with KOIOS's customer care. I was shipped a new scale. The same model (EK9380HR) as the first two, though, with a different bar code from the original scale but the same bar code as the replacement. The new scale, my 3rd one, works like a charm. The scale has a small footprint (even if leaving it on the counter), has a futuristic look and feel to it, and the price cannot be beat! The scale seems to be accurate (I used the scale for weight only; did not use it for liquids.) My only issue was the battery.Four stars: 5 for the scale, less 1 star for the battery issues I had to deal with.
