Genie 2055-LED Essentials Garage Door Opener, LED Bulbs Included, Ultra-Quiet Belt Drive Garage Door Opener

Had to swap out and old Craftsman opener that was very noisy. This went up easy, is very quiet and can be activated from 100 yards away. the unit is well made and fast. When my other Craftsman opener goes, guess which opener I will turn to?

I just finished installing the opener and everything went pretty well. The instructions were pretty easy to follow. My only complaint was about the wire included vs. the description in the instructions. The two-part wire looked the same, but the instructions called out one of them marked with a black stripe which was incorrect. I used a multimeter to distinguish between the wires.Other than that, I'm very happy with the purchase - it's very quiet as advertised.

Really easy to install and would recommend on how quiet and well it works alone. I ordered this garage door opener because I wanted to use a "dumb" garage door opener to be able to control via wifi without having to use any company's "smart" apps or other bs that barely works. This is the dumb garage door opener that just works. it does come with button remotes but I don't use them since I control it via Home Assistant. This works great and Absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a dumb garage door opener or one that will work with your own opening system.

It is best to use the wire that is supplied. Programing is easy and they give you enough time to do it correctly.

Hired the company who takes care of all things Garage Doors related. They had the same product but were considerably higher in price. The cost of having them charge for labor saved me lots of money, along with the unit, and the peace of mind it was done correctly. It runs so much quieter than the old Craftsman!!! It is so nice to have a business you have worked with for years that you can trust not to nickel and dime you because you didn't buy the product from them! SO HAPPY with this garage door opener!!!

I bought a genie model 2055 belt drive garage opener. It was easy to install and quit. 5 months after I installed it the limits on the door stopped working. Getting a hold of of genie has been a night mare and then getting support from them has even been worse. The first person I talked with had no clue why my opener was stopping at different locations each time and after about a hour they said they would have to consult with they team and she would call me back. After several hours with no call back I called them again. The next person I talked with had me start unplugging stuff off the mother board and trouble shooting the door. I'm 62 yrs. old and doing this is not easy. He decided it was not holding limit problem and emailed me a form to fill out to send me the part to fix myself. After I got through that they sent me another email telling me I had to pay for shipping and needed to contact them by phone to pay. That has taken 2 days of excuses and still have not got this part done and no parts coming yet. When I bought the door opener I expected it to work for more then 5 months without failing and beings it did fail I would expect them to repair it, not me.

Opener itself seems well made but: This was not my 1st opener to put together, it was more complex than my past installs. The rail sections just slip together, nothing keeps them in place except the cog belt, be sure to angle support rods to keep drive unit pressure towards door. They do not include enough hanging brackets or bolts, had to use some off the old opener. Only had 1 remote, should have at least 2. The wire supplied for the safeties and door bell operation button is absolute junk, you can't even strip it for connections correctly, do not use.

Likes: Installation was a breeze <2hours ( this was a swapout.) Includes removal of old unit.Quiet…makes old Genie chain drive sound like a car crusher.Old remotes can be reprogrammed…old remotes were 20 years old.Nice radius of remote, door is up before i get there, no waiting.Programming of drive is a snap.Customer service was knowledgeableDislikes: Customer service wait times 2-3 hours, they call you.Possibly underpowered, wait till winter.
