Q: Regarding canon eg style, can this eyecup be easily removed and replaced or will removing it destroy it ? thanks.

I can’t speak to the situation with Canon cameras. But for my Sony A7III, it goes on and off without destroying it. Having said that, it does not come off easily. I need a jeweler’s screwdriver to move the bayonet fittings to get it to slide off. Might be a different story with Canon camera bodies. Overall a good quality product. You may or may not like the ergonomics of the extended eyepiece. I see it as a very individual choice.

Q: Does the EF version fit canon R5?

No it does not work with canon r5.
