This balaclava saved me this summer. Over the years, I developed an allergy to sun light: on the beach, I cannot stand it for more than a few minutes a day without developing an annoying rash. While I had found good ways for covering almost all of my body and stay confidently on the beach to play all day with my kids, I still risked exposure of my head. A combination of usage of this balaclava and a hat with a large brim, saved me and I am happy to have found this product. It's elastic, stretchy enough to be good for a variety of head sizes.

Bought these for my husband who is an electrician and works outside in the Vegas heat. He likes that it keeps the sun off his face, sweat out of his eyes and breathable

I work third shift in a manufacturing plant so when the weather starts turning cold I need something to keep my face covered but more importantly my mouth and nose covered because I have alot of sinus issues in cold weather. These are lightweight, breathable, and do a reasonable job of keeping my face warm. The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is due to when working I can work up a sweat and with being so thin they evaporate the moisture rapidly and is does tend to get colder against my skin. I know these are for multiuse applications but for my purpose I only have the 4 but I'm sure they work perfectly for others in what they need them for. The only knock I have is they could be just a slight bit thicker but that's totally my preference. Otherwise these are great and definitely recommend them.

Do not believe the advertising of this product on amazon by the maker. It does not keep you warm. The product is thin material which allows the wind and cold to cut straight through it. I sent this product back the day after I received it. I would not recommend this product for winter bike riding.

First time I took my Polaris Slingshot for a day trip I came home with a baked face. I'd ridden thousands of miles on my Harley Switchback with no problem because I had a full face helmet, so I didn't realize how much protection it offered compared to the half helmet I got for enjoying the Slingshot. But with this balaclava my wife and I took a five day jaunt (Hwy 1, Redwood Rd and Carmel Valley Rd in CA; wow!) sunburn free. Also used long sleeved white t-shirts to keep us cool on sunny days.

This is made of very elastic material and a bit small. Though I'm not Mr. Potato Head, it fits too tightly for my liking. I felt like a bank robber with a nylon stocking pulled over his face to disguise his features. Wearing it as a gaiter to cover the mouth, nose and neck as shown in one of the product illustrations really isn't workable for an average-size adult male, though a woman or child might find it does well for this. The material is thin but appears to be quite strong. Other than fitting too tightly, it feels comfortable against the skin, and it does appear to be well-constructed. I'll give it four stars for all of that. It just doesn't fit me as I would like. Glasses are also problematic.

I use these cover to go on bicycle rides. I don't like putting on sunblock because when i sweat it drips down my face and it stings my eyes sometimes. So with this I just put it on and go. I have another baclava that I wear during the winter rides which actually keeps me warm but it would be too hot for sunny days. This one is perfect for hot sunny days.Pros:Easy to put on.It's breathable.It keeps you cool during your ride.Eliminates the need to put sunblock.You will still feel the wind but blocks it significantly.Cons:The back part could be longer. This might not be a problem for someone who is running but for someone who is cycling when you are hunched over your bike you the back part might come out and leave part of your neck exposed to the sun. In order to avoid that is better to put this on before your jersey and make sure that your zip it up afterwards.These are cheap so for the price they are ok.

I wear one when I ride my Can-Am Spyder, to keep my hair out of my face. They work well for this, but either I have a giraffe's neck (not likely at just over 5 ft tall) or these are very short. The picture shows them bunching at the bottom of the neck, implying they will stay in position because they are long. Not the case. I frequently have to pull it down repeatedly during a ride because it has pulled up to halfway up my neck. This not only is uncomfortable, but I either have to pull over or try to pull it down as I ride. Very inconvenient. They do stop sunburn on my face and they are breathable without being too thin. They are definitely would not keep you warm in really cold weather, but if you wet it and wring it out, they do add cooling for a few minutes, at least until they dry.
