1 year later bolt broke off inside antenna mount
The antenna metal seems to be of good quality. Unfortunately, the bolt that attached it to the car broke off inside the mount which is the worst possible place for it to break. When trying unsuccessfully to extract the remains of the bolt I found the metal to be extremely soft. It seems that the decision by the antenna manufacturer to use a cheap quality bolt will now cause me to have to replace the antenna mount on my wife's Nissan Xterra which is a 4 hour labor job due to the rewiring involved. Yay!!

works great
I had my stock antenna on my Nissan Xterra Pro4x crack my windshield, while on a logging road, when a tree branch pushed the tip of the antenna into it. This antenna eliminates that risk. Reception seems to be really good. I am sure it probably is a little less than the longer stock antenna, but I will gladly give up a little range to not have a big, metal antenna being whipped into my windshield again.

OK on my 2004 XTerra
I put this on my 2004 Nissan XTerra. My local signals are stronger than the old (original) antenna.Update: Took it out of town to my property 70 miles north of Las Vegas. It lost my favorite AM and FM station a good 10 miles short of where I lost it with my old antenna.I may send it back and try their longer antenna.

Best Antennae for Your Xterra!
If you own a Nissan Xterra and love off-roading and not having the cheap whip antennae the trucks come with get massacred in car washes, this is an amazing product. Installs and self-seals with no tools and works BETTER than the old whip. Highly recommend this product.

Thick and receiving well
Easy installation. Feels and looks very sturdy and well built. Far better reception than OEM antenna that came with my 2000 Xterra.

Don't get the cheaper one.
I like it, cause it's simple and cute. The only problem, is that, can not get a lot of station.
