After 8-9 treatments the pH in my hot tub remains unchanged.The product definitely has an effect on tap water, I have tested it and the pH of a concentrated solution is significantly higher after adding than before. But my tub, sadly, remains too acidic.Update: appears the issue was in fact alkalinity (water hardness). Added some bicarbonate of soda to the tub and tried again. Much better results! Please can the manufacturers of the product explain this on the pack? It will help people make the right choice and save waste. Your local water authority publishes water quality information on their website, so it's worth checking there first.

This has not worked one bit. Dont waste your money! Followed the instructions, did everything correct. PH didnt change.So ok, I'll do another dose, see if that helps. Leave for the correct amount of time, dip test again, no change!!! I've poured way more in than the pot advices, and guess what, no change in ph!!! My chlorine and alkali levels are fine, so that is not hindering it from working. Basically, this is pointless as it literally does nothing!!

It works, and it is capable of raising the PH level of my hot tub. The only issue is that compared to another brand i have previously used, this one is a bit slower to reach the correct PH level. I found that with this I had to use 50% more PH Plus powder to get to the same level that my previous brand brought me to. Would not purchase again, unless my preferred brand was out of stock.

Pool water should ideally be neutral (pH circa 7). Often it becomes acidic (pH less than 7). This product can be used to bring the acidity back to acceptable levels where the other chemicals (for example chlorine treatment) work best.The correct dose of granules are fully dissolved in warm water before adding to the pool. Take care with the dosage, adding too much will make the pool alkaline and then you will need a pH minus type of product to correct it. Always wait until the dose is FULLY mixed in before using a test strip to check the pool pH.

Changed the review as follows: used these on their own so thought they were ok, BUT, used one with a more expensive brand and the chlorine levels were accurate, but the pH was well off by at least 1.5 (which is a lot) and the alkalinity is way off. Dunno if I had a bad batch but these could have harmed my youngest daughter's skin if they had been used all summer. Luckily only the last week used before the pool was dismantled.

A little pricey as are most hot tub chemicals these days, but a brand I’ve used before. I have read reports of Clearwater branding third party products recently, not sure how true this is but I would buy a cheaper brand if available.

It took quite a lot of this to boost the pH in our pool but we hadn't been actively working on maintaining it before this.Will see how good it is once we are just maintaining balance rather than building it up.The instructions are easy to follow but there is no mention of what effect the given amount should have on the pool's pH. that would be a handy addition to the label.

This does work but it can take a while to decrease the ph over several doses. I felt it was expensive for what you get but all these things for a home pool are nowadays. Instructions are clear and it’s very easy to use.
