Evolution Deluxe 6161 JSP 280-EV6161-10 Class E Full Brim Lineman's Hard Non-Vented Hat, White

So far worn it for two days, bought a full brim this time for the rain in Seattle. Ear muffs have not arrived yet, but it is very comfortable. It badly needs vents at the cap.

Good value

This seems well-made but it also seems that this is just another mass-produced failure-destined item. I hoped for a durable, well-built hard hat when I ordered this, but...- The plastic bands that make up the suspension liner are very thin, be prepared to take care of it or you may inadvertently find your liner broken. I almost don't want to hang the hat up for fear it will bend, stretch or break the liner straps.- The sweatband on this is a joke, like a paper chamois (I'm glad I ordered new/better sweatbands at the same time)- After about 1.5 months use, the adjuster wheel has stripped out several tiny thin plastic teeth and will no longer adjust tightly enough.- Size adjustments are not easily made inside the liner - get yourself a pair of pliers and build up some patience before attempting - the tabs and adjustment holes are a very tight fit.- I had to remove the side-to-side center suspension strap permanently to get a proper/decent fit.- No included documentation for fitting or use aside from standard certification statements, disclaimers and warnings.My previous hard hat lasted over 10 years and to this day still adjusts and fits fine. Perhaps I'll swap the liner out of that into my new hard hat shell so I can get some use out of it.Update more than a year later: STILL USING MY OLD HARD HAT. Hah.

For the price this is a great hat. I like the look and it fits very well. The adjustable strap is large and grips your head very comfortably. It is a hard plastic strap so I imagine it might get uncomfortable if you wear it for a long time, but most hats have this style strap. The "vents" on top ARE NOT actually vents which is my only complaint. This would've been a great feature to allow air to flow through. But it does look good.

Light weight

This hat is everything it says it is except one problem. It comes up when you search for VENTED hard hats. No where does it say anything about it NOT being vented (which is ok really because all of the vented ones seem to SAY vented), but it came up in my search list of vented hats so I assumed it was (because it looks JUST like the vented one) so I had to send it back. The hat itself is fine, I'm just getting the vented version which is also only Class C but that's ok.thanks
