Boy's Formal Suit Set

My son turns 12 next month, and wears a size 10/12 in shirts from retailers like Kohls and JCP. He wears a 12 slim pant or jean also. I ordered a size 12 suit. The suit was too small in the jacket for him. His wrists were showing. Unfortunately it's likely my son has longer arms and average legs and therefore did not match the suit. The suit was nice quality and the navy is gorgeous! To help other parents I took some measurements of the size 12. Please know these could be 1/4" off, so good for approximation not tailor-fitting. The sleeve from the shoulder seam pad down the outside of the arm is about 20 inches. The outside of the pant from the top of the waist to the hem is 34.5 inches. The inseam was 26 inches. Since my son wears 10/12 shirts and if anything a jacket should be a bit generous, I rated the suit 4 stars. I hope this helps others and again, a great suit if it fits your child's body type!

I'm very pleased with this suit. I purchased it in the size 8 and the sizing is spot on with both the listed measurements on the size chart and in comparison to the majority of other brands my son wears. I think you're safe to order this in your child's regular size.The tailoring/lining on this is sharp looking, it's a very smart looking little suit and I like that it comes with a suit bag if you want to store it/you don't use it often. My only complaint is that it seems to wrinkle a bit easier than some other suits I've bought for my son, but part of that may simply be that I ordered a solid color and we normally go for pinstripe - so the wrinkles are a bit easier to spot on this one with nothing to distract.Even with the wrinkle issue I think this is a five star item, as it's at a great price and I'm happy with the quality given the price. :) More importantly? Two thumbs up from my son, the one who wears it every Sunday! As a bonus, this is his first suit set that came with a vest, which he is quite enamored with. (P.S. - don't mind his slight grimace, the sun was in his eyes!)

I absolutely love this suit. We bought it in navy for our little guy who was a ring bearer in a wedding. The quality is excellent and it came in it's own adorable suit bag, which made traveling with it easy and produced lots of "awww's" from the wedding party. The pants are not adjustable, so I recommend a belt to keep everything neat and tucked. The photos show the first suit I bought (which I had ordered a size smaller based on reviews). I thought it fit too small, so I returned it and ordered the next size up (which was his normal size) and it fit perfectly without any pulling at the back and a better sleeve length. I would recommend ordering based on you little guy's normal size. Returning and reordering a different size was a breeze.

I purchased both a 4T and a 5 of this suit. These were for a 3-year-old who is both tall and stocky and a 5-year old who is tall and slim.I ordered the 4T for my three year old, who generally fits gymboree and Children's Place 3T with no room to grow. My reason for this is because we usually cannot button 3T pants that run even slightly snug, and I read that these come with adjustable waist. The 4T was perfect. The pants were about 1 inch too long, which was easily remedied by turning up the hem one time and putting in a new invisible hem. He will now be able to wear them for around a year. The waist is NOT slim at all, but it is adjustable. I was able to tighten it for his easily, and it fit like a glove. The jacket was slightly long on his arms, but they just covered the wrist, so it was only long by about 1 cm. Based on this estimate, the 3T would have fit him exactly as the usual Gymboree 3T would.I ordered the 5 for my 5-year old, even though he is tall. He is slim enough that adjustable waists sometimes don't adjust down enough to stay up. The size 5 pants worked. They were exactly at his ankles when the waist was positioned perfectly. Due to his small waist, the pants rest very low on him, and the length looked perfect, brushing the soles of his shoes. I will take out the 1" hem slightly to extend the longevity of the suit for him. Generally speaking, the size 5 fits exactly as a larger-brand size 5 would. It is not a slim 5, but a fairly broad size 5. I am personally glad I did not get a size 6, even if the length would have been better, because it would be quite wide and hard to hold up. (The size 5 was already difficult enough on this measure.)Quality of the suit is very good, with some minor imperfections. The size 4T did have a button that was off-center on the pants, the closure worked well inside, but there was a bit of a bubble due to either the button or the button hole being placed incorrectly. It is not noticeable, and the button can easily be repositioned to fix this. Otherwise, the lining was immaculate, the quality of the fabric was better than expected. The presentation of the suit made one think of a true adult suit. After finding $50 awful Macy's and JCP suits that were elastic banded and thin as halloween costumes, this was absolutely amazing in contrast. I would put the quality below that of a Janie and Jack special occasion suit, but only just. And a comparable suit at that store would come to around $180, so I believe the minor step down in workmanship is quite reasonable here.To summarize, the quality of workmanship on these suits is good, though imperfections appear to be frequent. The quality of materials is fantastic. The quality for the price is nothing short of amazing. The fit is comparable to other brands, leaning toward the large side - though it definitely runs wider than many standard brands. Minor alterations to make fits perfect are not difficult - 1" hem allows for slight lengthening of the pants at home, and built-in adjustable waist fits all but the slimmest of children. I highly recommend this purchase.

First off, for the money this suit is an awesome value. It is very good quality, has good finishing (straight seams, lining is nice, etc.). The fit is a bit on the larger side which is fine with me because the pants do have an adjustable waist so he will be able to wear them for longer because of this. I am able to sew, so hemming them was easy for us. I did have to move one of the buttons on the vest that did not properly align with the button hole but again that was no big deal. I have been buying boys suits for a long time as we have older kids too, and knowing that I would not have been able to buy a suit jacket, vest and pants at JCP or Belk of this quality for anywhere near this price at a mall store, I give it 5 stars.Similar to IZod or Van Heusen quality I suppose, in case you need something to compare it to. I sincerely hope the manufacturer continues to make these at this price with the quality.

Cute set. Reasonably made. My son is a tall, slim 2.5 year old. The pants are very large on him. The pants could be hemmed about 2-3” and the waist had to be drawn in tightly. The waist being large was easily remedied with the adjustable waist. The vest is quite short and snug around his body.The fastener at the back of the vest is a cheap quality and I have yet to find a way to make it stay secured. It will work but would need significant adjustments for it to look like a proper fit. Pants and vest seem to be different sizes though marked the same.

This was a great suit for the price! I did have to send the first one back because it fit too small even though I used the sizing chart. Size 14 was too small for my 12-year-old son (who is of average size), but the size 16 fit well. The fast delivery allowed me to make this exchange two weeks before the family wedding. The suit also says that you cannot wash it, but I did put in the washing machine on hand wash cold. It washed well. I am very pleased with this suit!

Check the sizing chart and measure your young gentleman for the correct fit. A nice quality polyester boy's suit. certainly 100% presentable for a formal function. the cut is fairly stylish. the 4T fit was good for my average-sized boy on his 4th birthday. The pants were 3+ inches long and need turning up. the waist is an inch too big, for him to grow into. the jacket and vest are spot on. he wears this suit and pretends to be James Bond. everyone was impressed. comes with a hanger and suit bag. my only issue is a brand label sewn onto the sleeve outside which is somewhat tricky to remove. you need an unpicking tool, and it still leaves small damage. The label should be much more loosely tacked on. And preferably not there at all.

My original review was that it was Excellent! I was so surprised by how well it fit. Love that the pants are adjustable. Love the fabric. Colour was true to picture.But..... The pants split at the crotch seam the first day he wore it. Easily fixed, but not thrilled to be repairing pants 15 minutes before a wedding.

My 5 year old is 45" tall and weighs about 44 pounds, this did not fit him properly. The vest was kind of short and much too narrow at the hips. The length of the pants were perfect but they were really wide. They have the adjustable elastic on the inside of the waist band which is great but even at the tightest fit it was big on him. I would probably need a size 6 vest and keep the size 5 pants, plan on returning the set, which is unfortunate because it seems to be nice quality material and well made.
