Overall - the product is good, eye pleasing, and functional. Well and classy packed, too, which makes one willing to bye it over and over even as gifts.The Users' Guide, however, is not always accurate: to save money, the producers reviewed TWO models (620 and 630) in one booklet which results in wrong suggestions. It recommends to "PRESS the top to open", for example, while it needs to be PULLED UP in the 630 version.After using the old 630 for one year, I bought the new 630 which was slightly different - AND had the heat protected switch. IMHO it better be noted at the very first page with capital letters, for the regular customers: I wanted to send it back as defective before reading the User's Guide more carefully.

The lid for this is on a spring that once the latches are pulled back the lid will swing open. The mechanism that pulls back the latches when the open button is pushed has failed. I got this as a gift for my mom and it no longer works after 4 months. After a while of fighting it I got the lid open and now my mom keeps it open with a rubber band. Because of the springs on the lid she has to use a weight to keep it shut, so she has a little bowl of rocks she keeps on it to keep it shut. Goofy looking, we laugh about it, but I regret buying something for her that gives her so much trouble.

I bought this back in April. Have been using it primarily for tea or hot cocoa (now that it's cold). I usually boil and just let the water sit afterwards. I don't clean it after every use, but it's just water... Until one day I noticed that there's like a weird film at the top of the water. Since then, I clean it before every use, but I still see the film on top. The bottom of the kettle (when inside of it) also has like weird cloudy formations - not sure what this is. It's not scrubbable or washable - not sure if this has to do with the film. :( But yeah.... it looks weird.

Overall this is a very good kettle, quite attractive design, well-made, very fast to boil. My only criticisms are that it continues to heat after the water has boiled so if left to its own devices it would still be using electricity, which I think is wasteful, and that the minimum amount you can boil is quite a lot - again, a little too power-hungry. We need to be mindful of these things these days so i hope the manufacturer will take note.

I'm a old school metal Kettle person, drink a lot of tea … I put the kettle on every day …. I bought this for a shoot for an indy movie for craft service … small set …. it was to heat up water for tea and such …. all the extras got a kick out of it, worked perfectly … I haven't used it since, again, I use an old school kettle, but I have to say this worked fine and was a conversation piece

This seems to be working just fine for now. We drink tons of coffee and tea and the other brand we had only lasted maybe a few months. This one seems to take a lot longer to fully heat a full pot of water. But, it works just fine if you have a little more time and patience to wait. Easy top to open and fill. Has a mark to let you know how much to fill to max.

This is trash. Water tastes like and smells like plastic, ruined many drinks. I am too far from any UPS to return this garbage.Edit: the plastic taste disappeared, so I'm ticking up three stars from the original 1 star rating. However, there are weird dots and stains on the bottom of the kettle and I cannot scrub them off. Weird, but it works.

I love this little kettle because it boils water super fast and the auto shut-off is reliable. There is no weird plastic flavor like in some cheaper kettles, and it looks nice on my counter. The only thing I wish it had was a whistle or a beep to notify me when the water begins boiling so that I could hear it when I'm in another room. Besides that, it's a great buy.
