Newlec NL5704A (376B-1) PIR Occupancy Detector Switch Wall Mounted (2 Wire) - 10 Amp

I have been using this switch for 6-7 months now I was impressed. Was easy to install as a replacement for a regular 2-wire pull switch. I set the light sensitivity to none (in order for it to work also in daylight), set the timer to 1/2 hr, and used it to control the bathroom's light + extractor. I discovered that the light needs to be halogen as opposed to LED since the unit absorbs a small current when off, which is enough to cause some LED lights to flash.I reduced my rating to 3/5 because almost immediately after writing my review the item started to fail (would not switch on). A reset would get it to work for another week or so, then it would happen again. I think I managed to repair the unit by replacing the rechargeable battery that is soldered to the internal circuit board. But since others are experiencing the same kind of failure after 6 months or so of usage, I think that the unit may have a design flaw and fail when the rechargeable battery starts to fail. Batteries are inexpensive, but servicing the unit is not something that users should have to do.

Brilliant fitted in my mums bathroom easily fitted existing light socket, just 2 screws5 minute job, sensetive trigger and stays on while bathroom is occupied, I didn't even have to change the factory settingssuper piece of kit

Great product. A little pricey for my downstairs loo and I dread to think how long it will take to pay back, if ever but I saves me having to constantly switch the light off after my kids have been in there, so its one less job for mum. Easy to install and set up.

Tried 3 of these all lasted days all returned and at 40 quid that is not good so tried a different brand that cost £8:00 and works fine
