I've never used chalk paint before, so I honestly can't compare the quality of this chalk paint mix to any others. It seems like a fun and useful tool to have for making over furniture. With these two little plastic jars of the "chalk" I was able to pain a kitchen table, a long hall table, and an 8 drawer dresser and the legs of three TV trays.The brushes seem nice enough. There's definitely some losing of bristles at first, that you have to keep plucking out of your paint (and then re-painting your fingerprint smudges away), but that was pretty much done by my last few projects. I like that they provide you a brush soap and conditioner, and I used that faithfully as instructed. I also liked the wax they included well enough, and it does seem to keep my painted pieces from scratches.However, most of the other accoutrement they give you are fairly useless or things you may already have or can buy at any store for cheap. The little plastic tubs they give you to mix your paint in are especially irksome because they're not wide enough TO FIT THE BRUSHES THEY GIVE YOU INTO. Like... why they thought this was a good size plastic tub to include is a mystery. Otherwise, you get some multipurpose cloths that will probably last you 1-2 projects before you want to toss them. A tiny little whisk that was useful to mix paint, but you could get anywhere. Some wooden tongue depressor things for applying way to your wax brush and I used for maybe the first project but quickly abandoned that way of applying wax because it's too fiddly.So in sum, while I may buy more of the chalk paint mixture from them in the future, and maybe replace brushes from them, I'm not 100% sure if this kit is worth the price. If you have one or two small projects, and you have no other painting supplies around your house at all, perhaps this kit will be worth it, since it really does contain everything you could need. But if you have some kind of bowl or jar for mixing paint, and rags, maybe just look to buy their chalk paint and brushes separately.

I have used it so far on only one project and it worked well, I like the finished product.
